Chow Time is not only keeping local boys home, he's bringing them back as well! bradas' transfering back! no doubt, i wouldnt be witnessing this (this MANY bradas staying home) if it werent for Coach Norm. i cant recall, ever, of locals staying put, opting out of committments to other D-1 schools, SANDPAPERING AND PAINTING their lockers and locker rooms, showing a sense of pride at a level i've never seen at UH. cant wait to see how they perform as a local unit! it's going to be like watching an all-state hawaii team competing against the countries best! its NOW TIME for COACH CHOW!

bulls, knicks, hawks, gone! lakers take game 7 (or denver), whoever it is, are going to face a young, hungry, up and coming, and above all, a well rested thunder team! some believe that the long rest hurts a team during the playoffs. not me. try asking the coaches and players who are still fighting for their dear lives if they'd rather be playing or sitting and resting, especially after that compacted season! spurs were great all year (best record) but i dont see them getting past the next round,......wouldnt a lakers-clippers final be something!

miah showed me that a local boy can handle the point at UH. and heres the thing, THATS NOT EVEN HIS SPORT! came off the gridiron and took over the point immediately, sittin down bradas with full ride scholarships! team ran more efficiently with miah handling the ball. coach arnold evidently saw the same thing. recent departure of guards is a blessing for the warriors! there is one, maybe two guards, in the state that are graduating from high school this year, that can bring the same type of IQ, energy and excitement to the university of hawaii hoops program! even if these two players were to walk on, in my opinion, they'd make the cut and possibly start! miah showed me and hopefully some you.......................CAN!

dallas and utah, gone! okc and the spurs got their jobs done and get a much needed reprieve, until the next series. all indications point to a okc - spurs western final, but cant rule out mamba. its not over, till its done. 76ers about to close out a depleted bulls roster and the heat and boston are ready to move on. round 2 is about to begin!

world peace administered everything but that when he hit hardin. (seen worse in businessmens leagues) got his due. would never have had done that if that was ben wallace! ben would have sent him flying back into the stands! cheap shot if their ever was one. what i found interesting was that hardin was cleared to play the second half...... came out lookin strong and ready to go right out of the tunnel! but after further consideration, i believe that they held him out to try and justify a harsh and sever punishment, (mild concussion) which would keep metta outta their hair for the playoffs. it worked! ( 7 game suspension and over $300,000! )

key players out on injuries. with the playoffs starting on april 28th, bradas need all the rest and healing time they can grab if they want to make a serious run for the "RING". all it takes at this point in their season, is to lose a key player to an injury in a game that really doesnt matter, then bradas, you can kiss the season (and RING) goodbye! its that simple. kobe, superman, turkoglu, rose and deng, allen and rondo, k love all gots to heal! cant fault management for that call. (alot of fans disagree) not when everythings riding on the line. alot riding the line in miami today. bulls vs heat. bulls win, theys got homecourt. heat pull it out, they should secure their backyard for the playoffs, if they close out strong.

I think ive heard of guy who played in K-town named Jordan Tome. He was a star in KBA. He can shoot lights out from NBA range and has a deadly crossover. In Manoa, he averaged 20 pts a game and 12 rebs and 12 ast. I think he can be one of the greats if people looked at him more. He's 5'9 but has amazing strength and is a monstar.

Well let's get the fact.....yes they did stop a game.....an did u also find out that the reason the did was a ref stuck finger at me during the game an I told him he can stick that finger to me after the game....to which he cried like a baby an stopped the game to cry. I had witnesses an talk to ad about it an he was not worried about my actions......so get ur facts straight...lmao. I've been coaching him for years with the help of a very good baseball coach that's been training him also for years.....so Jason has nothing to do with his ability. He may do little things but his talent was there well before Jason had anything to do with him

Jst trying to get the facts straight!!! I was told a couple years ago a game was stopped 15 min cause the ad of a school had to come and talk to you and settle you down thats the kinda stuf im talking about we all get in the moment. You are saying the coaches actions like getting a tech in a game is wrong! Here on oahu coaches get ts all the time and yelling and screaming on the sidelines jst trying to defend there players!! And about ir comment on talent alone idk if you train your own son at home but coaches do drills to teach speed work on shooting and weight rooms to get stronger dont know if u guys do that at hilo but all those help a player polish his skills!! And maybe ur jst yelling pass the ball or watch ur turnovers this is kids they make mistakes, maybe instead of yelling at um you should be saying keep ur head up or get um nxt time positive stuff and cheer them on maybe that will make them push harder!! Well jst trying 2 get the facts!! Thank you

TCarter you have good points here. Although you may be going a little extreme here with the topic. The Biif has many coaches that don't know what they are doing. Take Keaau for example. They won 2 maybe 3 games this year. How about waiakea. As talented as they are, they will not be able to make it far because of how they coach. They run no set plays for big man and guards are hesitant because of getting yelled at. Kam has it made with the system of having players come from all over the island to play as long as they have Hawaiian. Hilo may not be a team to like, but boy are they fun to watch. Your son is a very good player. You may not Like the coach but he fits well in Jasons Up tempo style of play. I don't think he would play well in a half court style. He is doing great in Jasons system. Maybe Jason makes mistakes. But no coach is perfect. Would you rather have Ishibashi Jr. Or Henry Miranda coach your son? It could be worst.

From what I hear hilos got possibly two transfers in st.George an utrera. If those two transfers pan out.....it's hard for Hilo not to be the heavy fav. But I don't count out kamehameha. There coach has the MVP returning with some quality players coming back plus some up an coming....plus he has the abitly to do the right things when it come to game planning. Hilos got with there transfer another junior to be.......four juniors that are gonna be difficult to deal with. On pure athletic ability they should handle the biifs.....but if teams have talent an coach can get there respective teams to play as a team an know there role I can see kona, waiakea an kamehameha giving Hilo some fits. Kona has a really good coach an he gets his team to play well together......not to mention they also have some juniors that can ball too. But u still play the game an see what happens......cause anything is possible in sports

Destiny......thats where ur ignorance shows. Well u heard wrong never got kicked out of games. If u don't know what the deal with why I may have been a questionable fan....like everybody else at games can just wonder what happened. I'm just like any other fan....parent out there. But because I'm out spoken an loud all eyes are on me.....which I think is hilarious. I've heard other parents out there saying same if not worse things then me. But because I sit right under the basket it's in the spotlight.....all eyes...lmao. I've never yelled at a kid any disrespectful thing, or put them down.....unless u consider yelling pass when there taking forced shots....or watch ur passes when trying to force or making a bad pass....or don't force shots.....THEN IM A BAD FAN. But I hear so many fans saying the same thing....but cause I'm a take no shit an stick up for my kid kind of person.....I'm a bad person. I'm not ur take shit, let people talk about, or disrespect my kid, or treat him badly kind of person. I tell it like it is an most people can't handle that kind of person.....an I could careless. An yes my son had a great year......wasn't that the coach did something right. It was he busted his ass an worked hard to earn what he got. Coach can't teach speed, jumping ability, shooting touch, anticipation to steal passes.....that come with busting ass an not giving up. So get ur stories correct cause they are way off. Plus if u don't know the whole story as to why I dislike the coach so much then don't judge. I can speak first hand to my knowledge of his coaching disabilities as I do have first hand knowledge of dealings with the head coach for Hilo high. I'm sure other parents of this years team feels the same but won't speak out......but I will. I got nothing to hide

So top teams for the next Bball year...ill have to go with Hilo, waiakea & kona in D1.. Defending D2 champs HPA,honokaa, pahoa in D2..
I think Hilo is going to dominate with carvalho& carter.kona has a strong core with most of the team coming back... In D2 HPA will be strong with Desilva & their transfer point guard..knowing hpa they probably gonna try & bring in more help from over seas..Honakaa has everyone coming back from last year..gonna be tough to beat.Pahoa I think has Fisher coming back..though I've heard he's too old or something like that..guess we'll see..if he's back there right up there too..anybody else's opinions?

Watched hilo play a few times looks like the coach gets his team inspired
For every game by the way that they leave everything on the court they are one of the hardest working teams out there on D!! Didnt see the kam game but from what i hear you have been kicked out of some games yourself and ur reputation of being a good fan has been in question many times. I think you have no place to question a coach when you had some tirades yourself its natural we live in the moment but before you start putting down other people you should look at yourself first cause you are no angel!! And btw didnt your son make second team the coach must have been doin something right!! Oh well jst callin it like i see it!! Good luck to the big isle teams nxt year! Play hard

They will do good on talent alone....kids will be able to make the coach look better then he is....but when it comes to a coaching match up.....where both teams are same....then hands down hilo is lacking a coach

I didn't see the Hilo/Kam games but just looking at the rosters Kam had the advantage right off the bat. Now don't get me wrong, Hilo was a really good team and probably my favorite team besides us(St.Joe), but stylistically Kam is a bad match-up for them.

Kam can handle their pressure, ball handlers who can attack, apply pressure to Hilo's guards and had better rebounding(with the exception of that one kid, #23 i think, he's an absolute beast on the boards). And the main thing Kam had on their side was experience. They were senior heavy with a ton of experience.

I will say they should have beat Pahoa but i wasn't there so i don't know what happened or went wrong.

With all that said, i would give the coach the benefit of the doubt because i feel they really over achieved last year and this year to an extent. In the pre-season nobody thought Hilo was going to be a factor because of how small they were. Now if they don't do well next year then there might be a problem.

U got to be one the hui at hilo....one of those parents that party with the coach. As for my outbursts which u claim.....there is none....I'm like all other parents at game. But because imjj outspoken there I highlight on me....lol. now as for reporocissions toward my son....cause of there's any it will make the coach look bad cause he doing nothing to the coach so he's good enough if he don't play everyone will know iits the coach being stupid

kevin durant is a freak of nature when it comes to the game of basketball. at 6'11", he handles the ball and weaves thru traffic (full court) like a 5'11" guard, has unlimited range (with KD any shot has a chance), and finishes at the rim better than anyone in the game today. and he's only 23. becoming unguardable! not to mention his D! it's like he's got 8 arms! (durantula) truly emerging as a superstar.
