I was trying to get my son to attend a regional camp, but all of the camps were in the mainland. Maybe our kids are not as advanced as the kids on the mainland, but at least they might have a chance to attend the phenom camp in San Diego, if selected. I know Apele(Kam-Hawaii) and Handy(Keaau) actually attended the Phenom150 in San Diego, which was a great experience for them and made them better players. </p> <p>@Kahuna I believe many players from Hawaii have attended different colleges around the nation, and many have had successful careers. If we continue to think the way you do, we will never be competitive with the mainland players. If this camp can catapult a few players or just boost a few players confidence into dedicating themselves to be great(example DLOW), then this camp is a success. When my son said he wanted to attend the camp in the mainland I just researched what he had to do to attend, which was be invited from a regional. Since there was no regional in Hawaii I didn't know how to get him to one. </p> <p>My son is a good kid with good grades and he is very well rounded. I want him to have every opportunity to get to where he wants to be. Hawaii boys in the 4th - 9th grade finally have the opportunity to get to the invite only Adidas Jr Phenom and Phenom 150 in San Diego. The first ever Hawaii regional camp will be held at Le Jardin Academy April 9 - 10 for $100 per child. This is an exposure camp where the regional director will invite the top picks from each age group to go to the Adidas Jr Phenom or Phenom 150 camp.
