They had a huge front line: 6'5", 6'6", 6'7". Add to that very athletic guards. Troy McCoy was a special player...a big man who can also put the ball on the floor. Nice touch from the perimeter and smooth moves down at the post.</p> <p>They were a very unique team in Hawaii at that time and didn't look like your typical Hawaii high school basketball team as their starting 5 were all black. Heck, I think the whole team might have been black except for one hispanic kid and maybe a white kid as well. </p> <p>I remember watching the '89 state championship game between Radford and Kamehameha, with sharshooter Lenny Kai leading the way. But I do believe that the Radford team of Mccoy was also undefeated thru regular season and playoffs. Mccoy I believe got a b-ball scholarship to West Virginia. The coach of that team was the legendary James Alegre.
