i am a huge fan of high school basketball and have seen the most improvement with the waiakea baseketball team! their behavior and attitude have greatly improved since that sexy coach paul has taken over the team! yes i c him getting on the referes and players at times but i feel it is because he truely cares and is very knowledgeable in coaching. pesonally i feel that people hate on him because he is so good! i give him 2 snaps and i head tilt for all his efforts and enthusiasum!!! good job coach paul and his staff!!! we need more coaches like him to bring back discipline and hard work ethics! till next time bitches, go get some plad clothes as thats in style! "muah!"

In basketball especially in high school now days it has to work both ways between coaches & players. Earnning "RESPECT" for each other makes good relationships between coaches & players and will end up in having a good basketball team and I think that was accomplished.

But one thing I have come to learn is that you can't please everybody, You just have to do your best and that is all you can do.

Everyone will have there own opinion/statement/remark about something or someone but that is there right to make it.

To me overall Lee is descent coach he did get his team to the states and did well too...
...Looking at all the D-1 & D-2 teams played in the state tournament waiakea was the smallest team in that tournament the tallest they have was 5ft 10in in Mattos & Morante (with no centers) playing against 6ft 0in and taller opponents. And to win farrington, Lose to Kahuku by only 5 points & Kam-Maui by 10 points that was terrific. So just imagine if they had a descent/good center or two? and to be in the top 10 ranked at #8 huge accomplishment for both players & coaches. Job well done!.

thats an excellent point about height. if waiakea had more height they deffinately would have been a force to recon with. the thing about RESPECT, that has been thrown all out of wack these days!!! back when i was in high school adults was always rite and if i ever questioned them or didnt give it my all i got my ass chewed out from the coach, then my father! now kids get chewed out by the coach and the parent comes screaming and backing up the player, mind you, infront of everyone else or behind their backs. they feed others like a pandemic flu. winning shouldnt be top priority with young adults and the lack of discipline, self control, and work ethics is why we have athelets not making the grades, throwing kid like tantrums, walking instead of running, low motivation, easily giving up. all of these ethics needs to come back and if that means getting cut down by the coach, hi5 to that coach for taking his balls out of his stomach and trying to shape these kids to the real world and making them more respectful young adults. peace out bitches!

Yeh I can see what you are saying about now & then. But in reality now days generation is alot different then before...
...Back then you respected your elders or else, No options for you and you do what you are told. Now days generation they have no respect and they do what they like. The lack of respect happens in sports, school & home. Not all is that way but majority of it is.

If you are or a close relative or a close friend of Coach Paul Lee no need to defend yourself or your coaching ethics. You did a great job, Your warrior team had a good season & Made it to the states finished in the top 10 ranked #8.

Forget about them haters there always going to be haters in this world let um vent cause thats all they can do.

Coach Nakanishi and Coach Lee coaches very similar, they both get on the REFS,paces the sideline,Demands a lot from players, and most of all they believe in themselves. The difference is that the oahu REFS let the coaches coach and block what spectators have to say.... The BIIF officials on the other hand takes everything personal and like someone else said in an earlier post has RABBIT EARS. Damn if Coach Nakanishi was in the BIIF people would consider him a CRYBABY but actually thats not the case at all, and thats what some of you think of Coach Lee. I think coach Nakanishi is one of the finest at coaching HS Basketball, the one thing that intrigues me is he's TO calls, its always at the right time. If you put lee in the ILH and Nakanishi In the biif it would be lee is a great coach and Nakanishi a CRYBABY....... Ah C'Mon

well i am in no relation to coach lee....lol! far from it, in fact, we didnt even get along in highschool. the fact that people make excuses for the "kids now days" and their behaviors is why they are the way they are. they cant problem solve, think on their feet, seek resolution with out violence, and point fingers quicker than the speed of light. even if i was a family member of coach lee, it is clear that he is doing a great job with his team and hope others follow along and bring discipline back to sports. i ask you sports people out there, if you was a coach, could you have the patience to deal with these kids attitudes and their parents? i know i couldnt! any coach willing to give up their time these days and deal with the attitudes and behaviors of the kids deserves a hi5!
some coaches sit back and just kinda guide players. others take the time to teach, coach, and discipline which in return will produce a more respectful successful young adult!
    peace out!
