I think there should be a boys all star basketball game. Anyone know why it hasn't happened yet or why isn't anyone attempting to create a game?

Inquiring minds want to know. I think maybe we got to get Mufi in on this one. An Allstar OIA and Allstar ILH team This would be seniors only. Just like the senior bowl for football and the senior volleyball for girls that debut this year.

Great for college scouts. Maybe have a 3 day weekend. First day "Combine", second day "dunk" and "3 point contest" then autograghs. Third day "Showtime". Sell some shirts, hats and programs. Damn, they woulndn't be able to sell beer. Yep, go talk to Mufi HF.

If we had a dunk contest with local kids, it would be pretty pathetic. I mean, what would be a 50? A two-handed dunk?

KS, You may have a point. I wonder how many seniors can dunk? Holyfield with athuority, Makaula, Hillard, maybe Teo, Minns, Derego, Warner, Ball, Christmon, McClinton, Galeai to name a few.

Yah those guys might be able to dunk. But what kind can they do? No offense, but I wouldn't watch this. I would prefer to watch a game of horse.

    True, scrap the dunk contest.

If there was an allstar game this year, half of the player roster would have to be under classmen. Monroe, Chu and Tautofi for instance.

We should have an all-star game like the NBA does where the rookies play the sophomores. But, we should have the seniors play the juniors. You could take the top 12 for each grade. But since it is an all-star game, you could either go two 20 minute halves, or four 12 minute quarters.

The "Hawaii Hoops All-Star Classic" has a nice ring to it...

I wouldn't scrap the dunk contest if underclassmen were allowed to compete as well as seniors. There are some kids that can throw down. Look at Punahou. Crabb, Buckner, Johnson, J. Taylor all can throw down with authority and do some tricks I bet. Hilliard's dunk against Kamehameha this year was one of the sickest in game high school dunks I've ever seen.

It always has to turn into Punahou talk. First of all underpants007, you more than likely don't see very many dunks if your boy's was the sickest, he should work on his freethrows and maybe his sick team would win more games.

Here's the low down on a All Star Game.

    1. It should only be for Seniors.

    2. You have to get a Pimp Daddy Sponsor like the other sports.

    3. Someone in the community would have to step up and point person.

    4. OC 16 has to get involved somehow.

That's the reality of it, how can there be ones for Girl's Hoops and Volleyball and not for Boy's Hoops?

GoRaiders, how could you pick Crabb and his 6 points a game and Hiliard and his 6 turnovers a game? Chaz and Blake should make it over those two. The OIA roster looks great.

backpick, blake has done absolutely nothing this year..i can't believe you would want him on your team over the ridiculously athletic crabb or hilliard. bajet is good for defense, but so is hilliard. he does a great job on minns and holyfield when he defends them.

you said yourself on another post, puns are talented, yet u wouldn't take a single player on the roster? explain that.

and thanks for the great nickname. i like it.

These seniors would be compiled from both d1 and d2 teams for the ILH. We must all remember that there are good senior ballers whose school happens to be in div. 2. Who's got game in div. 2

Hey UnderPants, I would pick Blake because he helps his team win, he does all the dirty work that never shows up int the box score. His game is flat out ugly, but the results are a 11-1 league record and 21-3 overall record. Crabb is a great Arhlete, but he has been a non factor in the games vs the big 3. Against Iolani he sat almost the entire 4th quarter, either he's not as good as we think he is or Hale has it out for him. I wouldn't pick Dalton because I'm sick and tired of his act already. Plus Chaz, like Blake helps his team, doesn't hurt it.
I would take Kimo, he's been their most consistant guy this season.

Blake is solid. Against Iolani, he hit 3 baskets in a row late in the 4th quarter, which ended up being the difference in the game.

Rasta you're love of Kaimuki is only surpassed by your love of Hemp. Nutter has played in around 6 games, can't reward a guy for missing 2/3 of the season because of grades. But he has been a great addition to an already good team. P.S. I heard Micheal Phelps is in town, are you going to hoook up with him?
