here you go baby! first pick, mr. jordan's bulls, all seven of them! mr. bird's celtics and mr.magic's lakers tied, dead heat, 2nd pick! third pick, mr west lakers (when they won 33 in a row! still a record! with wilt!) fourth pick, mr. erving's 76ers with moses ( fo,fo,and fo!) and my fifth and final pick, mr. russells celtics, all 11 of them!.........but my DREAM TEAM would be magic, running the show, His Airness on the wing,( or at the rim!) sky ( guarantee! ) hook in the middle, larry joe bird bustin 3's from anywhere he wants! and mr. multi pivot,...man of a thousand moves in the post, (larry refers to him as the black hole!) kevin mchale! ( no relation to guy in the navy!) always wanted to do this! mahalo, brew!!

my dream team above, with magic, bird, kareem, air and mchale are all retired. would be a very competitive 7 game series with my current, active, still playing dream team. would put pau gasol on mchale, superman on sky hook, mamba on his airness, lebron on bird and durant on magic! THAT IS A MATCH-UP!

too much foot speed on the young guns team ill take air over mamba, gasol too long for mchale, superman too quick and strong for goggles, magic too good for durant( at this point ), lebron and bird forgetaboutit king easy over bird. edge to the new guys but close. benches pip, dr j, ewing, hakeem, rodman, stockton, malone and pistol pete. other side duncan, shaq, kg, westbrook, carmello and wade, cp-3,nash

Are you kidding, Lebron over Bird? Bird is way too fast for him.

RC -- Man, you're brilliant with your analysis on LeBron vs. Bird matchup. Bird's lack of a tan would throw a glare into LeBron's eyes and Larry Legend would drill jumpers on him all game long.

Remember the Bird vs. Dominique Wilkins matchup. Bird tore 'Nic up. Just ask OldG ... he's much older than most of us on the blog and he'll tell you! (lol).

Props to OldG, he was blessed with the same foot speed as Bird.

I wish I had that kind of speed. haha Bird probably had the quickest first step in the history of the game. Its the next 5 steps that he really slowed down on.

no matter who you put on larry, he will make them all pay and talk shit while splashing! put lebron on him and realistically looking at that match up, larry would bust lbj too! too good of a shooter with deep range! ............dont think howard would have a chance with the sky hook, though. would stand and watch helplessly as it arc's its way to the rim. just like we all did!

@hoopwaiian, also Bird was one of the smartest players out there, and I agree he would be able to score on anyone.

Hi~Low I foot speed was the fastest INTO the gym and OUTTA the gym. As for the game, who needs to be fast when you've got John and Lenny Kai on the team. LOL. I think I'm a month and a day younger then you......
Here's a tribute to you and RC.....

    My all Vanilla TEAM:

    SG~ Chris Mullin
    PG~ Steve Nash...even though he's Canadian.
    C~ Bill Lambier
    SF~ Larry Bird
    PF~ Kevin McCale

    Subs:
    Bobby Jones
    Bill O'Rear
Jason Kidd...don't know if he's black or white
    Jeff Ruland

I like that All Vanilla team except that I would have Pistol Pete at the PG spot. I don't know about that O'Rear guy coming off the bench though. He might not have the speed to keep up with this fast paced team. lol.

RC -- I'd be willing to come off the bench, using "fast" brainwaves to move my "slow" feet, the exact opposite of you ... "slow brainWAVE" and fast feet. But it would be an honor to play on the same team with you, then we'd have two guys with Larry Bird tans! (lol)

OldG -- on the men's league team you use to play on, there were few shots for anyone else with J-Kai handling the ball. J-Kai never saw a shot he couldn't take (lol).

Lenny was definitely a great prep player, one of the best point guards to come out of Hawaii -- from Honokaa and then playing high school at Kamehameha-Kapalama. He led Kam to a state runner-up finish his senior season.

Lenny went on to be a star player at Pacific University in Oregon.

brew. thats why i would give the edge to magic guys. i'll admit, the younger dream team is more athletic than bird and co. but magic and bird and michael are too smart for them! got 23 rings to prove it ! ( nobody, and i mean nobody, was a better shooter than larry. only guy i knew would win the 3 point contest! him and mchale would stroll into the all star locker room before the contest and story goes that bird said something like this, " i wonder which one of you'all is coming in second?" cornfield trash! that aint right!

Hi-low, I am not white. I am clear. I think you and Larry may be darker than me. I just want to go drinking with him because I read somewhere that he could throw them back. My kind of guy

OldG -- Hey, wake-up, you fell asleep last night before posting one of your blog gems. You're working too hard at the Specs Store. I realize you're getting older and need more beauty rest, but leaving a blank blog and snoring the rest of the night isn't so cool.

Looking forward to your next post .... ZZZZZZZZZZ!

I'm right here dude. I was going to comment about RC's comment about you saying he has fast feet. I mentioned you have slow vision. Thus creating an optical illusion. I should know, people think I'm taller then Brew!
