Anyone want to talk some basketball? I mean some real basketball and not just bashing teams or players.

Hello coach. I just started onto this site. My friends are coaches in the ILH and I enjoy good basketball. I enjoy watching Kamehameha play and hopefully they will defend their title. I have never seen your team compete. But I have seens ur team ranked in both papers. But other than some good basketball talk I see insults, personal bashing, threats, and very juvenile behavior. I see taunting and stuff that has nothing to do with basketball. It is unfortunate that people can't be civil and just talk basketball. Isn't there an administrator that does house-cleaning on this site? Hopefully we can all keep it positive and talk basktball which is what the website was supposed to be about yah?

The white division playoffs look really competitive. Waianae seems destined to meet a much improved Kailua team in the second round. On the Roosevelt side it could go either way with Kalani and Pearl City. Both teams played Roosevelt tough. It seems like everyone wants to see a rematch down the road but its not gonna be a cakewalk.

Our girls play tonight on OC16 at 7pm against Farrington. They have to beat them twice to win the OIA. They are already in states though.
Kamehameha is a very good team. Coach Jesse always gets the most out of his teams. I used to Coach at Maryknoll and I loved coaching against him. He is one of the best coaches in the state. After what he lost off of last years team I didnt think that they would be this good but they are. I went and watched them play against Maryknoll a couple of weeks ago. Their pressure D is still as strong as ever. The ILH is going to be a fight to see who ends up with the top 3 spots. I think we know who they will be but where each one will be is still yet to be determined. I watched the Punahou team play a few times and I didn't see how they could lose a game. They are loaded with size and shooters. But Jesse knows D and that is what will help his team at the state tourney.

One could argue that with the level of talented teams in the white this year, this is another year that proves that it would have been nice to see the OIA back to just 2 conferences (East and West)...I would have loved to see Roosevelt and Waianae compete with the red teams this year...alot of parity this year in my opinion...
One of the best teams I have ever seen in my years of coaching has been the Roosevelt OIA championship team from 2000 with Owens and Kapanui...and Kalani with Everett Frye...On any given year and school has the potential to be great...
