Vs Hilo? Honokaa I believe lost by around 15 points in preseason but they have played great lately and with their team lacking players because of two quitters, I think they are now playing more team basketball. Hilo's flaws that Honokaa needs to take advantage of? Kaumu and Jake need to have a great game, Jake coming off the bench but is one of the best scorers in the BIIF. Kaumu is a great talent, and Honokaa has to overcome a Hilo size advantage. Another key that is going under the radar is Eddie Morales foul trouble. Honokaa's quickest defender and I believe best ball-handler. I really do think Honokaa can win but it will be very hard. Honokaa wins by 2 or Hilo wins by over 10. LETS GO DRAGONS!

After Kealakehe's lopsided win over Kea'au I'm not overlooking the west anymore...lol...For Honoka'a they need not turn the ball over as much as they did when i seen them last...From what i've seen Honoka'a struggles against the press, but the presses i've seen them struggle against were zone presses...Hilo mostly plays man..That will probably be a little bit easier to break for them...They should play them the same way they played Kealakehe the second time but with a few minor tweaks...
They need to stay aware of of were Shintani is on the perimeter...He's not as good of a 3 point shooter as Naehu but he's really good at mid range jumpers, stationary or off the dribble...They need to be aware of this...
Second they need to try and not let Allen get the ball in the half court sets in the post...Figure a way to front him and help back side or double once he gets the ball...If they do those things and not have turnovers they have a huge shot at winning...They basically need to make the other 3 players on the court beat them in a half court set...Also need to keep an eye out for Wong out at the three..He could get hot fast...
Hilo needs to run and not turnover the ball...They need to press the pace and force turnovers...Also Honoka'a seems to not be that deep now...they could wear them down in the long run...Hilo basically needs to do the exact opposite of what i said Honoka'a needs to do..lol..push the ball, get Shintani a lot of scoring opportunities, and pound it inside when they get the chance...Get Lorenzo in foul trouble early...
It's going to be a good game either way...

Sounds like honokaa is lacking players for one reason or another. They also lost Micah Dunhour who moved to Oahu this year. At 6'4" and averaging 23 and 13 for his team currently, would this even be a conversation if he was still a dragon?

Well I picked hilo by comparing the depth of the rosters between these 2 teams, But hey theres always an upset and if honokaa does pull it off "Congrat's & Hats Off To Them".
Saw honokaa play once in pre-season don't know how there game is but they need to bring their A Game tonight especially playing a team like hilo.
Best of luck Dragons & Vikings!

Honokaa's win over Kealakehe was baffling...the Dragons seemed to be spiraling down towards the end of the regular season. Hilo is definitely one of the hottest teams after struggling early. I think the Dragons can pull it out if they bring their A game. Kamu and Jake need to have a big night, and Honokaa needs to play good team defense to guard all the Hilo weapons. Hard part is, Dakota Allen can't be guarded without some help...if the help comes off of one of Hilo's shooters (Shintani/Wong) you end up getting killed on kick out 3 pointers. All should be great games tonight.
