I would like to send out a apology to all who have been insulted, attacked or just plain bothered by some of the recent post's that appear to be coming from players on my team.
I check on this web site from time to time, it's great to read others thoughts and insights towards Hawaii Basketball, but my guy's have crossed the line. Our focus should (and will be) on prepping to play a very talented and well coached Mililani Team this Saturday, nothing else.
Once again, a sincre apology to all, and I promise this will no longer be a problem.

Hi coach. Thanks for that post. No apologies were necessary but in doing so only proves your classy personality.

I have keep my thoughts to myself(very"BLEEPIN"hard), and havn't posted on this site for awhile. Due to respecting someone that I didn't want to get hurt from "MY" comments on how "I" feel. So with that said...
To Tacon: Even though our philosophy on coahing basketball-(X's and O's), at this level differ. I would have to say that without a doubt our respect for the game doesn't. But I have to say this, I think Fanatichoop might have a point. All coaches have the responsibility to respect the game in a whole and teach more than x's and o's. When players-(kids), are coached to think that "slamming it down someones throat" is respecting the game. THEN I HAVE A BIG PROBLEM WITH THAT.............!
NEVER FEAR AN OPPONENT.! BUT ALWAYS RESPECT THEM..!

To D-up have you ever been on the sideline or in a locker room for a college game? Just curious because that term slamming in down someones throat is used very often and is considered light in the relms of Coaching. Although I do agree with you that you should never fear an opponent, but always respect them, I think that what another coach preaches within his philosophy weather good or bad shouldn't matter to the general public.

I have no problem with what any coaches philosophy is and how he implements it-(on the court,in the locker room,on the bus,in the shower)..... But this is what I have a PROBLEM with.... As a coach at this level(H.S), you have more of a responsibility to your players than just coaching x's and o's. So burden or not, you become responsible to help mold these 13-17 year old "KIDS" into young "MEN" or "WOMEN". Now as for me who's philosophy is, all players need to respect the coach and trust in him. But as a parent who's philosophy is "MY CHILD WILL HAVE THE CHANCE FOR A BETTER LIFE". So you give up the role that you held in your childs life to the coach and trust that its the right decesion. So if my son is walking down the road and get one car full of guys from the school that was posted in the Blog "Slamming it down your throat" Now wot do you think "could" or might happen? I will say this though, if anything like that were to ever happen to any of them."I Would NOT THINK TWICE"! and you know who you are!!!
    Respect is earned, not given...

Sorry D-up I'm not quite understanding your point or your explanation. I'm not sure about your situation or any others for that matter. I was just claryfing what I've witnessed and have gone thru in my days in college and prior. Coaches do have a big impact on a kids life and not all coaches are better than others in that regard. Just my opinion.

Coach Tacon you are a good coach. It's too bad that your players have no class. bunch off trash talkers. Marcus Keene especially. He should watch the words he uses because he's only a freshman and a lot of players from other schools will read what he wrote and look for him after the game. they sgould shape themselves up.

this response is to Steve-0 bro why would you go there, its seems as though you like the drama, if not why would you say something like that, kids are going to be looking for a kid AFTER A GAME grow up dude, don't give kids who know nothing else but fighting a reason to start one, last i checked an individual has a right to speak freely about anything, coach T handled his players leave it at that ok, nobody is going to be waiting for Marcus Keene after a game because most people aren't that childish, looks like you are all alone on this one so maybe you should apoligize to MK for your comments. he is a good kid have you ever met him? if not you should

I have watched marcus play. he is good, but he has a big mouth. if I can speak freely about anything then why you talkin to me. it was my opinion.
