Hard to discuss because everything is predicated on Admin support of each school...To me that determines stability and continuity of any program....

Depends how you look at it.
Kaimuki lost the last of the Tautofi Klan.
Where did the football team go?
Now that he kicked players off the Basketball team, Desmond won't come back.
Anyone challenging Kaimuki has good news.
    But for Kaimuki, Good Luck.

I'm sure though that Kelly Grant focuses his program on Team basketball and Character first.

steve-o, get your story straight bro. Desmond not coming back has nothing to do with your "kicked players off the basketball team" nonsense. Desmond not coming back is due to BOE rules, it's that simple.
This is why this topic is stupid, so nimrods like steve-o can throw blind punches at people he has an axe to grind with.

We should applaud AD Fred Lee for having standards that are more important than winning games. That is why many people are upset. They lack moral standards and a vision for what is appropriate for these kids.

To me, the AD's that's on the verge of retirement and/or have a cushion job who is just going through the motions should leave.

With today's climate, we need energetic Athletic Directors who can implement standards, a good financial plan, and have the energy to display extra motivation to go the extra mile to help his/her programs.

    On a Positive Note.....
I can Appreciate what Greg Tacon has done at Moanalua.
Greg Tacon is a True Class Act that has the Moanalua Menehunes on the Winning Track again (Ala Coach Eddie Moriyama early 1990's). Coach Tacon Runs a Successful Basketball Program and Selfhandedly Created and brought a Competitive Holiday Basketball Tournament for the past few Seasons featuring OIA, ILH and sometimes Mainland Schools. Alot of Hardwork and Dedication envoloved there and he is Not the A.D..

LeRoy Sims is one of the worst AD's of all time. Hilo High hasn't won a BIIF title sine he hired all his staff. The only team that won was volleyball and there are sandbagging and going into D2..

BIIFFan, it is pretty sad what Hilo High is going through. Hilo has taken many steps backwards with their sports program, and I believe they havn't won a BIIF title in football or basketball in a very long time. And the volleyball team playing at the D2 level is pretty pathetic. Let the schools who never won at the D2 level win some titles, not the schools who now think that they can't win at the D1 level move down and now take over the D2 titles, "Pathetic".

I know for a fact many good coaches have applied for the jobs, but have been turned down. Some of these coaches have then applied for other schools and have turned those programs into winners. I don't think all the blame should be on the AD, but then again I think it starts with him.

It actually starts with the support of your administration...

Damien High School, probably one of the worst run programs in the State. 80 yard football field with a dirt track, bleachers in the gym that don't work. Thank god they changed the lights. The clock guy for basketball games can be very funny and moronic at times. Anything more?
