Pun-Pride is D2. I only list the D1 teams. I would have to put 2Dhoop at the top of the OIA. You are always good to debate with.

Maybe when my book comes out I will take you on Oprah with me Jones. I owe some of the credit to you. Not much but some hehe

I put Basketball Jones #1. He is boys with Doc, Mello, Tacon. Have I forgotten someone BJ? I remember playing poker with you last year up in Mill-ville, haha....BTW saw your boy playing football last week. He must have his father's genes.....to make all those spectacular plays.

i hope that when Jones is walking that he doesnt suddenly stop otherwise your head is going to go straight up his ass. I have never seen so much ass kissing in my life. Maybe Jones will sign a pair of undies for you and you can hang them on your wall. I know that Jones knows a lot of people but Jesus, you dont have to pucker up. Sorry jones, I dont mean to crash your smooch party. None of this is directed at you.

HoopFanatic...thanks for the kind words regarding my boy. Hopefully he can stay healthy for basketball season. As for poker, I'm sure you took some chips from me as my poker skills are below average at best!

The coaches you mentioned are friends of mine, as well as previous bosses...in coaching of course. Hmmm, who else is on my cell phone? Kelly Grant is a good friend, I learned quite a bit from Coach Furtado as I played for him in high school, sat with Larry Farmer while scouting some games up on the mainland, had beers with Coach John Thompson III at a pub in Maryland (super cool dude)...there's a few more but this UCLA/Tennessee game is getting exciting!

Buffer, you have everything correct about me except for the ex-Maryknoll coach part. I am the beer drinking champion though. Ooh tough guy got mad. You are the lucky one. I always let it be known what I look like and where I was at last year. Nobody ever came found me at any of the games. I am over that crap. You want to meet then just name a time and place. Otherwise stop talking like you so damn tough. I will be at the Maryknoll games again this year just like always. (if I was the ex-coach I dont think I would be there. Didnt he get another job) I usually sit across from the team and am always loud. I guess you have to wait until basketball season to find me.

Sad news for me, probably great news for some of you. I might be moving to the mainland and taking a job. I just got out of a meeting and they asked me to move to the mainland and run one of our companies there. I dont want to go but it is a lot more money, and I will be able to gamble legally. Maybe if I take the job, Hoopfanatic will throw me a going away party. I will keep you all posted because I know that you are all dying to know. The bad part is the move will take place in November and I will miss the Classic's 25 year Ann.

Speaking of the Classic, here's the lineup (from the website):

    Fairfax
    Oakhill
    Dematha
    LeFlore
    Montrose
    Putnam of
    Whitney Young (MJ's Kid)
    Team from China

There is no way any other tournament had a collection of teams like that!!!

I had heard that they were trying to get Hurley to bring his team. That would have been something, even though I am going to miss it.

They've tried for years to get them back, but St. Anthony's has very little money and a trip to Hawaii from New Jersey is fairly pricey.

Sidenote: "The Miracle of St.Anthony" is a great read for any of you basketball junkies. In the book, Coach Hurley even references the Iolani Classic.

HawaiiHoops...I have read "The Miracle of St. Anthonys" and I thought it was a great book. It would be great to have the Friars return to the Classic again but from what it sounds like in the book, they are barely getting by as a school. Hopefully, one day. About the Classic being mentioned in the book, it also goes on to tell about an incident that Coach Hurley went through while walking through Chinatown here and almost getting into a fight.

Jones, what about the time you walked through Chinatown and the 2 marines were hitting on you because they thought you were a prostitute!

That is a great book. I have read it a few times. If any coach ever wants to learn how to coach, he is the man to watch. Nobody gets more out of a team and a player than Bob Hurley.

The quality of players in this year's Classic is amazing! 3 out of the top 6 players in the Class of '09 are coming to the tournament. Xavier Henry from Putnam, Demarcus Cousins from LeFlore and Renardo Sidney from Fairfax. Unbelievable! Not to mention the trio of seniors Montrose Christian has. They were there 4 years ago when they were all freshman. i think they also got a transfer from Benin, 6'9'' forward. And then MJ's son. Come on...
