Here's a few Kimo/Chaz Bajet, Kui/Miah Ostrowski, Jack/Jack Jr. Miller, Bob/Micah Christenson, Pete/Josh and Alika Smith, Jenic/Chris Tumaneng, Bob/Bobby Nash. I know there are many others, so feel free to add on to this list.

Bob and Micah in my opinion. I saw Bob play for the Vulcans and he was a really good player. And Micah is having a fine career.

Brew -- Bob and Micah is a pretty good choice, although I'm certain some other combinations will pop up.

Bob grew up in Northern California, played prep ball at Montgomery High in Santa Rosa, then played at Santa Rosa JC before playing his final two years at UH-Hilo.

Bob, at 6-foot, was an outstanding combo guard, blessed with superb ballhandling skills and he was a deadly shooter from the perimeter. He was smart and always helped make his teammates better by getting them the ball in scoring position, or effectively running the offense in a point guard role.

He injured his knee before UH-Hilo and still had a solid Vulcan career, but he never had a chance to be fully healthy or he might have ended up as one of the top UHH guards ever.

At Santa Rosa JC, he played with former Punahou star Ia Saipaia and the two became close friends. Both went on to play at UH-Hilo, and Saipaia was one of the Vulcans' top players for his two years on the Big Island.

Bob married Charlene Kahuanui after UH-Hilo. She was an All-American volleyball player for the Vulcans, during an era when UH-Hilo won several NAIA national titles under coach Sharon Peterson.

Micah is currently a 6-foot-5 junior at Kamehameha-Kapalama and one of the state's top volleyball and basketball players. He is being heavily recruited in volleyball by several national powers, like Stanford and Penn State, to mention a couple, and he could play at some D-I basketball schools if he opted to play that sport.

However, Micah is considered one of the best prep volleyball players in the country and he'll surely have many options to play and get a quality education at a high-profile school when he's done playing at Kamehameha.

As great a player as Micah is, his dad may have been better.

Bob was my coach at Kamehameha many years ago. He was old then, but was still solid.

Not sure what it was called exactly, but he played on the equivalent of Team USA's Junior National Team. Back when their shorts had belts and the ball still had laces.

Barring major knee injury, he was slated for major Divison I ball as he was on the radar of many top schools, including UCLA, who John Wooden was keeping tabs on.

What impresses me most about Bob (those that know him can attest) is his G.I. Joe Kung Fu grip. He shakes hands harder than anyone I know.

I swear my hand was broken after the game on March 6, 2010!

Not surprised Micah grew up to be the player that he is. Great pedigree!

Based on the names above, I think the nod goes to the Nashs because both played D1 at UH. If Hoopwaiian is correct about the Lees, maybe 1-A and 1-B because the Lees both played high school in Hawaii.

As far as Bob and Micah, good points by Hi-Low and Ed. I did a basketball clinic in Torrence and when I mentioned Christiansen, guys there told me he could dunk on anyone! As for Ed, Bob has a boxer's grip because his dad was a boxer. Pull back quickly and shake his fingers!

Bob and Micah share a high level of basketball IQ even if Micah may/may not be as good as Bob in basketball. Also, even if this is a father-son thread, Chalene was an awesome volleyball player/athlete herself at Uh-Hilo!

I'll just throw this in too. The Akina's. Coach Hiram and both of his sons are worth mentioning. Don't know where they would be ranked though.

I'll give a shout out to Bill and Brady O'Rear too... Sorry Bill, I couldn't resist.
