Galderia is by far the best freshman in the state. Awa is good too. Galdeira's athleticism in by far the best.
It's just so unfortunate that unethical motives, being shady, and doing the things the wrong way will always be linked with her for living with her coaches.
That is the irresponsible and unfortunate part of this story.
The fairy tale ending would be for her to move out of the house, and for her parents or guardians to drive her to Kona every day. That would be the correct way to do it.

Dejah Fa'asoa. Nuff Sedd.

Its funny how one fan sees the freshmens from the westside only. According to the paper we have some strong freshmens in many of the BIIF teams. Example I've seen Waiakea's Alyssa Ferreira's name as top scores and having crucial end of game sinkers. She handles the ball with speed and is a great assist to their top players. Then Kea'au has Jacy Pagala who has been the top scorer in most of the second rotation of the season, including scores that were up an up with their top senior players Raylene and Tiare. To have strong well noted Freshmens on any varsity team is an accomplish for each individual and team. They all should have our congrats for a great season.

Steve-o, just wondering who is Dejah Fa'asoa. Sorry for my ignorance, but I do enjoy following the careers of good players.
eastsidehoopaholic - good post!!! The BIIF does have a bunch of good freshmens. Keaau, Waiakea, Kona, and Kamehameha all have some good freshmen, which will create a very competitive league, and in turn prepare the teams that win the BIIF for the state tournament.
Credit should be given to all the youth coaches that have prepared these freshmens. I believe Jacy(Keaau), Alyssa(Waiakea), Trisha(Waiakea), and many more played for Wayne Kawaha. Seirra Pacheco(Waiakea) and many freshmens on the Kamehameha Varsity team played for Dominic Pacheco(Current Kamehameha-Hawaii Boys Coach), and Konawaena Freshmens(Nuff said), every knows who they are, coached by Bobbie and Donny Awa. Thanks too all the coaches for giving their time.
Anyone else around the state have names of underclassman that we should keep our eyes open for.

Iolani's Maeda? Iolani's #12! Thats my vote! Iolani tops Kamehameha to advance to the state tournament! Thanks OC16! Go raiders! Good night!

2Dhoop, I saw Iolani's Maeda play last night. She is one of the best freshmen players in the state. She has good court awareness, great instincts, good shooter, and most of all she plays w/ a big heart.

I agree Braddah Brew!

I was actually impressed with Iolani's zone. They were active, were able to extend out to the proper shooters, and their spacing and ability to recover was good.

for freshman, i would say jacy pagala..alyssa from waiakea, and all the freshman from kona.

I think Galdeira is far better than Awa. It isn't really close. Galdiera needs to improve her left hand, decision making, and on-ball defense.

Galdeira's left hand is much better then perceived. Her defense is questionable due to she plays defense flat footed and not on her toes. she takes too much chances on d because she is out of position and depends to much on her athleticism. She has to recognize the screen a little bit quicker to be in position to defend better.

I agree with the taking too much chances. I also agree with the poor read of screens. I do think her left hand is not that good. She doesn't explode to her left. The ball comes off her weak hand much weaker than her right. She really didn't finish when she had to dribble with her left hand against decent teams. She either got cut off or she pulled back.

its just unfortunate she's stuck in the situation she's in at the moment

It's unfortunate that she plays for the dirtiest program in the state. My new math equation looks as follows:
Galdeira's Situation + Konawaena Basketball Coaches = BATOON

yeah you're right.

I am serious, the coaches are just as dirty as Batoon imho.....
