On a weeknight, hands down, Helena's.

But, the next best place is Mexico Restaurant, right across the street from Helena's.

Last night: Combo Plate. Pork Tamale, Chicken Burrito, Beef Enchilada, rice and beans. Chips and salsa to warm up.

The decor is beautiful and the ambiance is relaxing.

Come early, park at the school, and walk over.

For dessert: Malasadas from the Damien concession.

    Jones, TESTIFY!

I absolutely agree, Ed. The restaurant is called, of all things, Mexico Restaurant (pretty original). As Ed mentioned above, its a great place to have dinner before (or after) a game at Damien or even Kamehameha.

The portions was pretty good size too. I'm usually a pretty heavy hitter when it comes down to food intake (probably not as big a heavy hitter as Ed, but that's another story) but I couldn't finish my plate there was that much food.

The walk back to Damien helped burn some of the calories that was taken in.

Homemade malasadas from Damien for dessert was winnahz!

Ed, at least you'd be walking back to St. Louis gym going downhill...love Kim Chee II, but not sure if it's worth the uphill trek. I'd go with St. Louis Drive-In for sure

HAHAHA. Might be the only way for some to pass. I ended up talking with a parent the entire lunch so I didn't get to run out. Where are the best places to eat in Aiea? I teach out here so let me know where to go.

I don't get to go out there often but I heard that The Heights is good. The Aiea bowling alley is also pretty good.

All this time I thought you were a teacher at Roosevelt as well.

No, I don't think I would want to see my players all day. haha. I teach 5th grade. I like it better, that way if the younger kids upset me I can take it out on my players.
Aiea Bowl does have good food. I used to bowl in a league out there and the food is great. Just getting tired of running to McDonalds and Wendys all the time. It showed on TV the other night how much I go there.

    RooseveltCoach.

Across the street from Aiea Shopping is center, is a ramen place called Dae Ichi. Solid. Right next to that, is a Korean restaurant called Young's, I believe. Try their Young's Special plate. They bring it out on 2 plates! Solid!

Obama, I was just gonna mention W&M. Don't know if they open late though. Also Azteca Mexican but it's a long walk up the hill next to Kim Chee. Even Happy Days dim sum is awesome too. As for Damien, yes, love Mexico Restaurant and Helena's. Had to wait 45 minutes to get into Helena's for lunch one time. bibbyboi, we'll be sure to check out Jimmy's next we visit the Big Isle. Sounds ono!
