If there is "Thunder and Lightning" after the game, most times we just go to Zippy's as it's one minute away. Not my favorite place, but it's convenient.

I really enjoy Side Street Inn. When the server asks what will you have, I say, "The usual!"

Goma Tei for ramen is good.

If we play up on the hill, automatic is Kenny's in the Kamehameha Shopping Center in Kalihi. Their menu is good. Mean fresh fish. Good place to tip back a few before game time too!

But my all time favorite place to go after a game is BasketballJone's house. Major grinds, great conversation, beer is always cold! Great ambiance. Outdoor TV to break down game film. Get more Aloha than Danny Kaleikini at Jone's house!

    Nori's is another great stop!

Ask for the "BIG PLATE" (2 Big Nori rice balls, several terri sticks, chicken sticks, terri steak, mahi and a load of mac)
Great for party of 2...or even a small family of 3...great taste with big portions at an affordable price!...I dunno, maybe since the New year price may have changed, but it was "ono" all of 09'.

If it's a big game (and we win) we sometimes eat sushi at Akasaka after. The lunchtime chef is better though. Best sushi in town.

Kahala Sushi at Zippy's is surprisingly good too.

Tokuri-Tei on Kapahulu is solid too!

Howzit Ed, have you ever tired Mitch's Sushi by the airport? I also enjoy Yohei (Kalihi) and Sushi Masa (Ward Center). It's really good. I like Tokuri Tei also. The sushi at Pearl City Zippys is good. I heard the sushi chef there is formerly from Yanagi I think.

HF, I've been to all of those places. In my days working at Matson, I would sometimes entertain customers at Mitch's and Pearl City. The lobster sashimi at Mitch's is solid. Even though Pearl City's and Kahala are same owners, Pear City is better. Yohei has been getting more expensive. Masa is a nice guy. I don't know how he survives, especially with Genki opening next door!

Masa is funny. I enjoy his lobster miso soup. I agree with you, the lobster sashimi at Mitch's is great.

That's good too. Close to Kaimuki/'Iolani.

On Friday's before the Kamehameha football home games, I would sometimes go to Helena's. When the waitress comes and asks what I want, I tell her, "The usual."

    Large Poi
    Poke with opihi
    Large pipikaula (short rib style)
    Double Squid Lu'au
    Fried Butterfish

Haupia and maui onion on the side.

I try my best to keep it real!

Ed, Jones and I are thinking of going to Side Street or Kampai after the games on Thursday. U and 2DHoops can go or what?

That depends on whether or not there will be "Thunder and Lightning" after the game. Weather patterns during basketball season can be very volatile, if you know what I mean.

Jones, you know what I mean?

Brah, I think the people in Honoka'a could feel my frustrations during the tourney!

    BIIF refs were killing me!

What you saw...I mean heard, at the Na Menehune Tourney was tame compared to what was going down in the Hilo Civic!

Seoul Garden is pretty solid if you like yakiniku. As always, mutter a bit of Korean and you'll get even more bang for your buck.

I prefer it over Sorabol (only open to 11 p.m. on most days I believe - Seoul Garden that is).

I love Seoul Garden (formerly called Cho Mark)! I always order the anchan (sp?).

I love the establishment next door, even better!

You will find me in Ballahead Row!

My girlfriend can speak Korean so the "Special Sides" that come with our meal make the tab a little easier to swallow. I've never had meat there with the slightest hint of freezer burn.

    Next door, haha :P

    LOL

I'm usually good for at least 1 1/2 orders of Jumuluk, 2 bowls rice. I'll also eat all the shoyu potatoes, shredded daikon, all the seasoned salad, garlic mushrooms, fishcake, kimchee and deng jang jigae. If she lets me. I'm pretty sure I can hang with the best of em on a "hungry day" at Seoul Garden.
