That probably wasn't the best way to word the question, but my answer is Noah Chong-Viernes. He's one of the best players on a team not considered to be in the top tier.

I totally agree with you HiSelect. At least we will be able to see his talent since Lab School will be moving up to Div. I I think this thread should be called the worst league in the ILH.

Best Players from the 'Junkest' Teams. I agree with Hoopsitz, the ILH Division II teams are weak.
Djavan Cackley (Parker)
Brad Foster (Word of Life)
Charles Hazelwood (Lanakila Baptist)
Patrick Matthews (Hawaii Baptist Academy)
Michael Palmer (Seabury Hall)
Micah Ritte-Manangan (Molokai)
John Viernes (Pahoa)
John Whitty (Le Jardin Academy)Posted 3 months ago # -
Heard Cackley moved to Oregon... (or was considering it)

wow, HIFan, you sure know your basketball. I'm impressed!

The worst team in the ILH will be Maryknoll so that means that Terai is the best player on the "junkest" team.

Personally, I would give that distinction to Damien. As of right now, I know there are a lot of boys that may not come out for basketball because of various reasons. There is dissent and animosity toward the coaching staff as well as administration.

Hi BBJ, what bought up all this animosity towards the coaching staff?

Couldn't really tell you why...I just sent an email to Byron Melo inviting him to buy me lunch soon so I can get the juicy scoops.
Actually, I do have a little info but, as always, I want to confirm exactly what I heard before I put it up on the boards.
Aloha.

First of all Uh lab is not a junk team they've only won the ILH title DII two years in a row. Noah is a great player for that team, but they have the returning ILH DII player of the Year Dylan Gomez returning this year as a senior. Uh lab school has played well against top DI schools as of late they just don't have the depth that most DI schools have. Starting 5 can play w/ anybody.

i saw UH Lab in the summer league. it didnt look like they can play w/anybody.

Unfortunately, UH Lab loses Isaiah Delaura and their transfer from Brazil suffered a broken ankle this past summer.

sorry, i worded my last comment incorrectly. UH Lab has a pretty good starting 5. They beat some teams and were comeptitive with others. i just think that their starting 5 had enough fire power to comepete with the stronger teams like punahou, iolani, kamehameha. st louis was not in the summer league.

Hey BBJ, I just noticed your post mentioning that DeLaura isn't going back to UH Lab. Where is he going?

Howzit Hoopsitiz, Isiah moved back to Oregon. He had just finished a great summer basketball season with KBB and I thought was about to make an impact this upcoming season with UH Lab. I wish him all the luck in Oregon, hope he does well.

2DHoop is right...Delaura has moved to Oregon and will not be back at Lab, at least not for next year. Too bad, very humble kid and super nice family. He will be missed at Lab.
