Wow...Is Kalani considered a "good" team in the OIA D2? Haven't heard much about them...what's their record?

That's what makes this game great! Any given night any team can win.

the final score was i think 61-49 something like that.
the kalani are third with the record of 6-4 coming up next is kailua at kalani on saturday. kailua is a great team last time they played kailua beat them by maybe 10? jordan decorte he is a dominant post. kailus record is maybe like 5-3 or 6-3? But if kalani wins i think kalani can take 2nd in the standing

Isn't Roosevelt 2nd in the standing with only one loss? I'm kind of confused with how the leagues are separated there.....

The league is split into 2 divisions. Right now we are still on top of ours and Waianae is on top on their side. Hats off to Kalani tonight. They shot lights out on us. I think they shot around 75% from the field and they hit 8 3s. Most of the shots were contested too. Coach Nate did a great job tonight. It just wasn't our night. We didn't play that great and were missing one of our top defenders, but Kalani played great. The way that they shot the ball tonight, they could beat any team in D2. We just have to regroup and get ready for our game on Saturday. Congrats again to Kalani for a well played game.

    Classy RC.

Roosevelt was missing one of their quickest guards. Kaipo was his usual dominant self on the boards, he missed a couple close shots, he didnt really get to the line as much as he usually does because he is a pretty good foul shooter. Roosevelt has so many weapons, Kalani did a better job on Brendan and Chase who cause a lot of trouble in the paint most of the time.

As much as you would want to win every game, sometimes a loss can be a "good" thing...so to speak. Of course, you definitely don't want to lose in the playoffs but a loss in the latter part of the regular season after going undefeated can help a team to regroup and refocus.

Roosevelt's loss was to a very good Kalani team and shot excellent from the field against the Rough Riders.

    Congratulations to both teams!

Got question for everyone. Does the host school of each game get to keep the gate revenue or does it go directly into the OIA fund for everyone to share?.

We play Castle on Saturday, Waianae on Monday, and Kailua on Wednesday. All 3 games are at our place. And I agree Jones, sometimes a loss can help a team. We have been in mostly blowouts this season so maybe we weren't prepared for this kind of game. But I think that it was more that Kalani just played a great game. Even though it was only 8 3s it sure seemed like a lot more. I think they probably hit another 7 shots 1 foot in from the 3 point line. And We missed something like 15 shots from 5 feet or less. Tough to beat a good team like Kalani when you shoot like that. Hats off to Coach Nate and his team once again.

Seemed like about 10, but yes he hit 5 and we fouled him on 1 of them. We were down 1 and he hit a 3 and got fouled. That kind of sealed the game. We then had to foul and they made most of the FTs.

So was he the impact player for kalani?

Yeah, seemed like everytime we were about to get past them, he would hit a big shot. They jumped out 27-12 on us and then we took a 1 point lead a couple of times but we ran out of gas and they just kept hitting big shots. But that kid was on fire.

If you don't mind me asking how come one of your top players didn't play? I really hope it wasn't grades or attitude or something..

Does Roosevelt deserve to be in the top 10?

It was a team matter. Good kid who made a mistake and now it is over. He will be right back out there tomorrow when we play Castle.

As for the rankings, like I said before, they don't matter to me. Fun topic for you all to debate about. I think that there are a lot of good teams out there that can beat anybody on any given night.
