But Brew, your doing an awesome job for the youth of today... Congrats to you

Ishibashi turns the ball over way too much and has the second worse shot selection in the league...First going to Cabatu....That kid shoots everytime he touches the ball...but he makes up for it on D and rebounding...Ishibashi doesn't...

Just to let you guys know Jacob Ontiveros from Kealakehe is a sophomore. Another player from the west side would be Deion Utrera from Kealakehe probably the best freshmen in the BIIF this season.

That maybe true for cabatu, but allen does the same thing.. Allen turns to his right(90% of the time) to score. In Hilo's system, Allen will have a hard time with it being there are such an up and down team. He was better off at Waiakea. but just my opinion

@BIIFFan
I don't know about Ishibashi being more valuable to his team then Janado I think they both are valuable to their team. But so far what I heard and again this is what I was told by others watching keaau's games. Is that keaau's games especially the last 2 big games it's been Cazimero & Handy. Again could be wrong I did'nt see their games for myself but this is what I was told.

Dont get me wrong, Keaau needs there big 3 to be playing at all times(Handly, Haku, Cazimero).. But if ONE of the 3 go down.. Its hurts Keaau.. If Janado goes down, Waiakea still have moronte, mattos and libao

@brew
This time I have to agree with BIIFFan you are doing a great job for the youth's of today. I applaude you with great appreciation.

@drewng
Thanks for that information on Ontiveros from kealakehe I was looking in one of the tournament booklets that I had and they listed him as a junior.
Yeh I forgot about Utrera from kealakehe another good prospect for the list.

True that I think Allen would of been better off at waiakea that's the only thing waiakea lacks is a center. Imagine if they had one spooky. But I have to say Mattos & Morante is doing a great job! without a center.

MJ23,
You got fairman with the west all-stars (above) but he would actually be in the "underclassmen" game. Not sure if you caught that one and the different divisions that brew set forth?
Rising stars (9-10th grade)
Senior stars (11-12th grade)by the way, nice picks.

Who would you choose to coach these teams? Do the coaches have to coaches that coach high school teams?
I forgot to add Donny Awa
Posted 7 months ago # -
I hope you're adding Donny Awa for the girls squad...I would be pissed if i was one of his players for the boys squad...

Thank you everyone for all your picks. This is awesome to see that so many people have so much knowledge on big island basketball. I hope that the committee looks at all your picks and reasons for your picks and takes it into consideration. In fact I'll make sure they do, because many of you sound very knowlegable about your picks.
The coaches will probably not be from any varsity squads because we felt we could find celebrity coaches that have either coached at a high level or played at a high level. Don't worry it will be coaches that know the game really well.
Keep the picks coming!!!!! If a player is on the fence give us the reasons u would choose him or her.
Thanks

With that being said, would you consider Jimmy Yagi as a coach? Merv Lopes? Vince Goo?
Please have the committee select qualified and competent referee's for this showcase of young talent.
Posted 7 months ago # -
Will do!!! And you know what, those are great coaches to choose from. I will run it by the organizers.
Thanks OldG I knew I could count on the old guys!!

Here is my take on Haku. I feel that Haku is a very very talented player who can handle the ball better than any player I have seen in a long time. Probably since Austin Souza. But, Haku sometimes seems to play in spurts, which hurts his ability to dominate games. If he can play with more controlled agression and intensity he can be one of the best players on the island. jus my opinion!!!!
Thanks
