Waiakea @ Kea'au should be good. Of course I am going for waiakea to win but I think it will be a close game. Waiakea is playing at Kea'au home court so Kea'au will come out to play and I hope Waiakea will be ready.

Your right Shaka, it should be a great game!
Although Waiakea should be the favorite in this one, this year it's "anyone's game" (competition is tight).
My prediction:
Hats and Tapp-out T-shirts won't cut it /Discipline will prevail - WHS 48 - KHS 37
Enjoy the Game Shaka!

Should be a good one, but I agree with Luna...Waiakea takes it by 10+. Warriors "Bigs" will prove to be too much. Waiakea's bench also gives good minutes and Keaau's starters spend a lot of time on the floor. Cougars can't afford to slow the game down to get rest, Warriors need to push the flow early.

I think Keaau has a really good chance of taking it if Waiakea plays man, but if they play zone it should be an easy win for Waiakea...

@bigisle
Agree I think our "Bigs" will be too much but you never know it will depend how they come out to play and stay out of foul trouble but we will have a good talk in the locker room before the game.

How did this game turn out?

Keaau won...don't know what the score was, just know that they won.
Posted 2 years ago # -
won by 12... i think

Yes Kea'au won by 12 points congrats to them. Like I said it will depend on who comes out to play.

Waiakea just did'nt come out to play. Honestly they were like a total different team from playing against Kam & Hilo like zombies on the court. They were no hype at all, No team work, No defense which is unusual because that was their strenght, Missed shots, Alot less than normal offensively/defensively rebounds they just stood where they were standing watching the ball. Had no fight & it was aweful to watch.
What they showed tonight looks like they are going to have an up & down season.
Kea'au came out to play, Played a better game than waiakea did and plain out won. Congrats to Kea'au!.

I thought Kea'au had a chance to win but i thought it would be closer than that...Was it Kea'au's guards that did really good? I figured that's where they had the advantage...

@bibbyboi
Yes kea'au guards did well, So did the center, Forwards & One of my favorite players Richie Handy who I think scored like 19 points.

I'm really happy for Handy...I wish Kea'au would get him more scoring opportunities...He's actually probably their best player...I know for sure he's one of the best defenders in the BIIF....

Fantasy basketball #1 pick : Richie Handy
Posted 2 years ago # -
I don't know if he would be a fantasy #1 because he isn't really a stat filler right now but he does a lot of things that don't make it to the stat books...I see him guard the other teams best players and shut them down...gets a lot of loose balls and makes smart plays down the stretch...

I think it was a typical game of opposite poles. Keaau was reeling and needed a win badly. Waiakea on the other hand came off 2 nice wins and relaxed against a struggling team. Happens more than often in high school...that's what makes this game so interesting.

Man D1 is wide open this year...any team in the east could come out on top....crazy...
Posted 2 years ago # -
It seems like you folks have your own ILH division going down this year THAT'S GREAT. Any giving night someone can beat someone.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS IN THE EastSIDEEE!!!!!
COMON MAN!!!

Parity was the case last year in the BIIF when they kept D1 and D2 seperate. What it created was competitive games night in and night out, and rid the lopsided blowouts. Although the BIIF adopted a different format (East/West), it's just so happen that the East is very competitive this year. It won't be the case every year, for example, look at the West for the girls this year...horrible for Konawaena.
