    obiwan,

St.Joes beat Waiakea by 10? All the D-1 teams on the east side are stll in the race for that #1 seed in the playoffs if the Cards keep beating them. They already beat Kam,Hilo,Waiakea, whos next? Congrats to the Cardinals on another win. I hope they go all the way this year. They deserve it.

Hilo and Keaau must have been a good game. I thought Keaau was going to win. waddascoops on this game?

Kam and Ka'u. No comment. I think everyone knows who won this one.

    @MJ23

Yeah good point. Kam is actually still in it because of St. Joes.

It's funny, as soon as the rankings come out, they need to be changed again because Keaau lost to Hilo, who St. Joes beat by 20, and St. Joes just beat 10th ranked Waiakea, looks like they will be back in the 5th spot.

Obi, do you folks have any breakdowns of the games. Who played well, who was the difference or what was the difference, and the overall summary of the game.

If anyone else has a breakdown of any of the games, it would be greatly appreciated!!!

    thanks

Fairman played really well...He hit a lot of big shots and rebounded really well...St. Joe's shooters were kind of off tonight....Never REALLY got going like they normally do...

Waiakea kept it close for most of the game but i think St. Joe's offense just grinded them down...Waiakea looked really tired in the fourth...

Waiakea did really well at getting it to the post and finding the open man under the basket...They stayed in the game that way till the fourth when St. Joe's started cutting off the pass...

Both teams played really hard...good game...

Waiakea and St. Joes biggest started off slow, it was about 7 to 4 with 2 minutes left in the first. St. Joes got it going in the 2nd Quarter and that kind of set the tone for. The game. They were up by about 8 or 10 going into halftime. Waiakea made a nice run and actually took the lead at one point in the 3rd. It was a one point game, advantage st joes heading into the 4th. After Waiakea made their run it seemed like they were dead, and used all their energy to come back. St. Joes hit some shits, Andrade and Lee had big threes, and Fairman dominated the boards and they paint, I believe he had 17 and 17.

That was pretty much the game, St. Joes got up by about 16 and Waiakea hit two threes during garbage time. Also on a side note with about 30 seconds left, Libao cleaned out Andrade while he was bringing the ball up the sidline when the game was basically over, it was embarrasing for Waiakea, because it was a great game all around until he did that. The whole gym knew it was a dirty play, especially when Andrade walked to the line after he fouled him, he said something to him...

That is why I don't think he should be even in the consideration for player of the year.

Other than that disgusting play it was a great game.

Yeah Libao is a head case...When they got down you could see he was frustrated then he started making even more mistakes...It's funny because it seems like Mattos has taken the role of leader and he's doing it pretty well..I would have thought Mattos would be the head case...

I will say this about Waiakea...Mattos is without a doubt the best passer out of the post that I've seen in a while in the BIIF...I swear he probably had 6 or 7 assists all out of the post...

I was impressed with both teams. Waiakea was patient on offense but St. Joe was more patient. Waiakea showing more team play and their chemistry is getting stronger. St. Joe is showing greater debth as the season continues with bench players stepping up. Waiakea's coach improving and the team responds to his energy. St. Joe's coaching is simply in the flow. Jacob was off but still scored around 15. Fairman was a moster, grabbing rebounds with his elbows above the rim. Sebi's 3 was off a little but made up in rebounding and passing. Will continues to be the quaterback in their offence. On Waiakea's side Mattos and Morante get mean chemistry--both very unselfish and they come across as smooth players, keeping their cool and doing their thing without the unneccesary emotion. Also Waiakea's guards working the ball around. Can tell they getting comfortable with their offense. Good game and good coaching both sides. Goood fun!! ...think before you print!!

@Socrates- so true, both teams played really well. Waiakea stuck to them for almost of the game. So proud of Morante and Mattos, they played with there heads in the game. Matt seemed to have struggled but I think the pressure got the best of him. I wish them luck in the second round.

I heard about Libao "cleaning out" Andrade towards the end of the game, pretty bad...Wow!

Glad Morante and Mattos stayed in the game!

Always a great game from the East.

But what do I know?..I know, I know, nothing!

Waiakea @ St.Joseph what a good game it was.

Waiakea stayed close for most of the game. Waiakea's
defense superb as always, Chemistry is there no doubt and only getting better, Guards is stepping up big time, Mattos & Morante is playing with alot of heart/soul & Being excellent leadership roll models for their team.

Only thing missing is that mattos has to step up in scoring his points, His scores are too low and he can easily make 15+ a game but likes to assist more than scoring. If he can contribute his points waiakea will be hard to beat.

As for Libao yeh I think pressure/fustration got the best of him. Overall good basketball player & asset for waiakea as their point guard.

St.Joe I always said is a well coached & disciplined team (plays with only 4 deep) and has high IQ
athletes which they can outsmart/outplay/outcoach their opponent's.

Good luck to both waiakea & st.joe I think they both have a run for BIIF D1 & BIIF D2 Champions but that will remain to be seen cause all the other teams are just as compatible.

Waiakea will be back in the hunt for the BIIF title. The three M's: MORANTE/MATTOS/MATT will adapt and overcome. That's my prediction.

    @ sharpshooter,

I agree with you! Waiakea's "M3M" (Matt, Morante and Mattos) are too experienced at this level to not be in the thick of things in the end.
    Key words: adapt / overcome

    but what do I know?
