I thought of starting an actual club ball thread since it was being talked about in a different thread.

Anybody check out that K-Town League @ KPT
Heard they got two teams that play in that league that could give any team on the island some hard rubs.
K-Town and this other team Run-N-Gun who is kind of under the radar

Snowman, whos the coach for K-Town now that Scotty is in Vegas?
Posted 4 years ago # -
who is on run-n-gun?
Posted 4 years ago # -
Run N Gun are the St. Louis Boys.(I believe Coach Viena).

Were there any good games or upsets this past weekend with NJB?
Posted 4 years ago # -
Hoopsitiz i just heard about those two teams, but never really got a look at them. My nephew who plays in the league told me and said they play 2nite(K Town vs Run N Gun). Might go check it out...
2Dhoop do you anything else about this run n gun team?
i also heard they made it 18 and under this year instead of 17 and under so k town could have lishman play on their team...

K Town's coach for 18U is Kimo Makaula,(son Kaluna plays at Punahou and is on the team) and they have more than just one player that is 18 years old. Kimo Makaula is doing a good job taking over Scotty Nobriga's Club. Run and Gun is also a father son combo with Coach Viena teaching his son on that team, Run and Gun is alittle younger.(K Town's 13U, 15U is coached by Tim Yoaurt)

2D, do you know who else is on Kimo's team?
Posted 4 years ago # -
Kimo's core are: Lishman (Kalaheo), Makaula (both Kaluna and Kona), N.Romuar (Damien), C.Lau (St. Louis), Whittey (LeJardin), N. Scanlin (Mid Pac), A. Boldamarow (Iolani) and some others but those players are pretty much the core. There is this 13 year old kid named Reeve Kolher (Salomen's younger brother) that Kimo's been working on, giving him minutes, a BIG and SOLID center that looks good. About 6'1 with a good drop step and very muscular, and only 13 and still growing.

I heard the sharks are traveling this year to vegas. anybody heard anything?
Posted 4 years ago # -
Too bad Kimo didn't bring his team into the All Net. Would have liked to play his team.
ILHFan2, the kids that are going with Matsuda are the same. Holyfield, Won, Warner, Crabbe. Hmmmmmmm!!!Posted 4 years ago # -
It is also to my understanding that Iolani and Punahou also have their own teams entering Las Vegas tournaments, possibly NJB tournaments also. 2Dhoop or ILHFan2 can you confirm(and give me a possible Rosters)?
Also, Is it true that Kimo Makaula is currently playing in a basketball league with first teamers Cheynne Lishman and Taylor Mounts in which he's the leading scorer? Goodness, those Punahou coaches don't have any idea on what their missing...
Posted 4 years ago # -
Wow! Taylor Mounts! that is great for Taylor. Yucko11 I couldn't agree more, I thought that Kaluna should have been in Punahou's rotation more, he a big strong kid that doesn't get into foul trouble and could play a 3,4 and 5 man postion. I've spoken to his dad Kimo and he seems to be tripping on the coaching staff although he tries not to say anything negative about Punahou's coaching, he just smiles and shakes his head.(both father and son has shown patience).Coach Kimo Makaula also takes a team to Vegas. Team Hawaii. yucko11 I hear you, I hear you!

hoopsitiz, which crabb are you talking about? trevor kaiwi or taylor? what's the rule for the amount of school players on a team where the coach is associated to a school? now that darren is a "coach" for punahou, he is subject to this rule i think.
i know the hawaii raiders are traveling and that team has a bunch of iolani guys. last year, the punahou guys like steinhoff, toma, makaula all played on team hawaii that went to vegas. i dont know about this year.

My bad. Its Kaiwi. Don't know the ruling on that. Can somebody confirm?

Well what a game last night at the KPT league...Run N Gun vs K Town...Run N Gun led mostly throughout the game until Lishman became hot in the end for K Town taking his team into overtime...but it seemed like Run N Gun just played smarter in the end...making the right decisions and not losing their patience...hats off to the coaches...
also it seemed like Run N Gun has a lot of height on there team with the 6'8 guy who couldnt play last night because of some apparent reason but i heard from another fan at the game that he will play the remainder of the league
Posted 4 years ago # -
does anyone have rosters of these two teams?
Posted 4 years ago # -
Snowman, i was at the game last night and it was unbelievable. this league is the real deal and there's some top talent there as i could see last night. i heard from one person there that hoops paina played in it two years ago but left because of officiating and other things. that was then and this is now. last night there were three refs at the game with at least two of them being ILH, NCAA college summer league refs.
lishman was incredible at the end(anybody read the advertiser today-he commited to hpu). he had a hard time finding his shot early on but boy did he find it when he needed to. i think he scored 8 pts. in the last minute to push the game into overtime. run n gun had a little too much in the end though due to some costly decisions by k-town at the end.
run n gun ran a superb platoon system last night taking advantage of k-town's mostly six man rotation.
ILHFan2, as i could see, run n gun was mostly st. louis vars players. the viena cousins, one plays for kamehameha and the other for st. louis, micah mcclinton (st. louis), marcus umu (st. louis) and some others.k-town's main rotation last night was cheynne lishman (kalaheo), kaluna makaula (punahou), niko romero (damien), cory lau (st. louis), john whittey (le jardin), ammon baldomero (iolani) and some others but those players were pretty much the core. k-towns team last year was better i think. i saw them playing in a men's league up at palolo. they had lishman, makaula and baldomero from this year's team plus taylor mounts (iolani), liloa nobriga (iolani, las vegas), kainoa scheer (iolani), brandon dumlao (kamehameha) and pii minns (kamehameha). unbelievable team coached by scotty nobriga.

hoops paina should enter this league..........or maybe the coach doesn't like to loose so he doesn't enter
Posted 4 years ago # -
Ilhfan2 i also could see that Run N Gun was made mostly of saint louis players except for the other viena cousin. Also one of the parent's told me that besides the 6'8 guy who didnt play they're are still missing low post presence Moses Samia due to baseball.
808highflyer seemed to be correct on k-towns players and they have a steady 6 or 7 that will play the game despite the extra players they have on the bench.
