Christian Academy of the D-2 ILH league has three upcoming talents and a transfer. Two of the players were given Allstate honorable mention. Can you list any other player who you see standing out in the D2 2009-2010 season?

John Whitty, senior from Le Jardin is a returning all-star.

I have to disagree about the John Witty comment. The only reason he stands out is because he takes the majority of the shots forcing his teammates to be less productive. He has some skill, but not enough to carry his team. Christian academy beat them during regular season and playoff season. I also recall seeing them lose to Christian academy at the Hawaii Select tournament hosted at Le Jardin's own gym

I like Isiah DeLaura from University High and Corey Lau from Kailua HS.

Some of the St. Joesph players will make some noise. Will Scanlan, Sebi Saft, Eddie Andrade, and Thomas Fairman. They are definitely the team to beat in the BIIF, and they will compete for the State tittle.
If they were playing DI in the BIIF they would have a chance to win the tittle.

Isaiah delaura. Solid basketball player. Even better person. Great family too.

Can you guys list some more so that I know who to guard on the season. Like I said before, this is the best scouting report that I can get. ha!

How can I forget about Delaura!? Welcome back buddy! He will also be one of the better players in the D2 this year.
Howzit Roosevelt coach. How does your team stack up this year? Do you have any ballers that will be making some noise on the hardwood? Good luck this upcoming season!

Thanks BasketballJones,
I have a couple of good players returning. Kaipo Pale (6'3" and I think he grew a little more) averaged a double-double as a soph. last year and was a beast at the state tourney averaging 15pts and 14 rebs. Brandon Mitchell is my shooting guard and really worked hard on his game over the summer and can knock down shots all over. I lost 8 guys but my JV team was faster than my varsity and they should fit in nicely with the 4 guys that I have coming back. Only time will tell.

I like Kaipo...I coached him one season back in JV. Parents are some of the nicest people around. I hope he has another great season, which I suspect he will.
What are the preseason tourneys that you guys are slated to play in?

Jones, you are some of the nicest people around!

Brandon Bautista(Kohala)

iolani5, I saw Kohala play last year. They had some good players.

Is Christian Academy the favorite in ILH D 2 ?
Posted 2 years ago # -
We are in the Kaleheo, Punahou, and Merv Lopes tourneys. Where did you coach Kaipo at? Was that when he was at MPI? Now you got me trying to figure out who you are and if I know you or not. haha. And you are right, his parents are very nice people. Very supportive of him and the team. Let me know if we have met basketballJones.

Kaipo, Berardy, or Corey Lau should be POY for DII. Wailua has a great shooter in Vance Dumlao (sp?). Waianae had some decent JV talent also.

JV??? Ooops...what I meant to say was NJB! My bad...Damn, that's what happens when I call in sick from work today so I can stay home and watch the UH game on tv...

nice list HIFan

HIFan, I. Ekau is a much improved player from last year, and he still can jump out of the gym. The number 3 spot is well deserved. I also saw D. King play in the WYBT and he is a really nice player. Very good shooter for someone that tall. The averaged about 30 in the tournament. He lit up Kealakehe for about 42. Good list of DII players.

RC-
Kaipo Pale had a pretty decent season last year. He's very active in the low post and aggressive with the ball. If he could work to be more consistent in his free throw shooting and finishing under the basket, he'll be a tough cover this season.
I know his father pretty well and was sad to see him leave MPI. I'm sure the coaches there would love to see him in the green and white. Glad that he is doing well though, good kid.

looking at the list... would deluara pick up what noah chong left off? and what do you guys think that the standings will playout through the season.. (Ilh, Oia, and all other leagues)

Delaura is a solid player but he has no support. I watched Christian Academy beat University High in the Iolani summer league by like 35 points. The two guards for CA combined for something like 50 points. Could be two of the best guards in the state next season.

thebirdman,
Do you mean best two Div 2 guards, or best 2 overall guards? And when you say next season, do you mean upcoming or 2010-2011 season? Are these guards underclassmen? What are their names?
