I AM NOT FAMILIAR W/ WAIAKEA GIRLS BUT I WAS AMAZED TO SEE KAMMIE PLAY IN THE JAMBOREE. ONE OF THE SMOOTHEST PLAYERS I EVER SAW. SPIN MOVE, JUMP SHOP AND AMAZING SPEED AND FLOOR VISION. READY FOR THE NEXT LEVEL. ANYONE WHO CAN HOLD THEIR OWN AGAINST TOP PLAYERS LIKE DACANAY AND RICHARDSON ARE IMPRESSIVE TO ME. DID NOT SEE THE ROOSEVELT AND PUNAHOU GAMES BUT THE WORD AROUND HERE WAS ONE SMALL GIRL TRIED TO DRIVE AGAINST 3 PUNAHOU GIANTS AND THE ROOSEVELT GAME ANOTHER SMALL GIRL MISSED AN EZ SHOT LOST THE BALL COUPLE OF TIMES AND FOULED THE BEST SHOOTER ON THE TEAM.PER CONVERSATION WITH COACH MIKE, RESULTS COULD HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT IF THEY GAVE KAMMIE THE BALL AT THE END OF BOTH GAMES. BY THE WAY...FIRST TIME IN YEARS KONA WAS A NOW SHOW AT THE JAMBOREE. ANYBODY KNOW WHAT HAPPENED?

@honofan-I'am the mother of the small girl that drove against the 3 giants on the Punahou team. She just did what her coach instructed her to do! In my opinion it wasn't the best thing to do. That small girl also lead her team with 9 points in the 1st half of the game. As I recall she wasn't the only one on the team that had any turnovers. REMEMBER they win as a team and lose as a team!!

thats pretty sad that people are talking shit about players. I thought that the game was played for 32 minutes, not one play or two plays. Things could of been a lot different if we didn't miss so many shots or turnover the ball as much times, and that was everyone on the team. You should never blame one play or one individual for loses because that shows that you are not a team player. I watched every Waiakea game and there were a lot of bright spots and some not so bright spots, but they are young and they will work hard to get better. Maybe those same girls you are talking about will work harder and may be able to make those shots next year and the year after. And by the way I think everyone had a chance at the end of the each game to make a difference, not just the two small girls. If you watched it you would know. And if you did and you dont agree then your looking through a very small tunnel.

@kamiesmom
I applaud your efforts but it may not be possible to please everyone at this blog. I have seen Kamie play a few times here and sat next to an ILH coach while watching her. She played very well against Moanalua, unfortunately for us, but she has a agme you can be proud of. The ILH coach and I commented to each other about a few areas that needs some work but the coach where she got her scholarship is probably aware of these deficiencies and is confident in working out every area of concern. The thing that coach cannot teach is her athleticism and size. Kamie looks quick and will only get quicker as she adjusts to her competition, as all players do in response to their competition. I was impressed with what she could do, even if she is stronger going to her right so when she get's better with both hands she may become the player she wishes to be. Hawaii needs more D-1 players and it is easier for girls than it is for boys so I wish her and you family luck at her new school.

Wait a minute I was at that Punahou game! Kamie was great but she has to do too much for that team! Waiakea is a very young team! At the end of the game tough trailing 50-53 with under a minute Kamie didn't demand the ball from the point guard your superstar suppose to want the ball in those situations like Kobe, Lebron, Jordan would! then on the last possession Kamie had the ball with under 20 seconds left trailing 50-55 desperation never set in as she was at the top of the 3 point line dribbling trying to shake her defender while time was running out! instead of attempting a quick score then foul to try and extend the game! Punahou was just the better team THAT night! as for the Roosevelt game who cares it was meaningless

Kona loses the biggest game of the season, but because they have class they don't blame oneanother, but instead they pick eachother up and move foward. They could have blamed many people on that night because many of 'um didn't have good games, but they know that they win as a team and lose as a team. Maybe Waiakea can learn from Kona.

I believe Kona was a no show at the jamboree because they went to Watch Mana Hopkins play for HPU, that tells you the commitment they have for their fellow teammates.

( remember those countless hours practicing with your sister and dad, gym to yourselves!)dont know her personally,but as a player, hard to beat.watch her in college! she is going to do hawaii proud!

Why are parents worried what other people think about your son or daughter. All that should matter is what you think about you child. Period. End of story. Just my opinion.

@BIIFHoops-your right it shouldn't matter, but to me it matters when a person signs up only to come on and post under Enuff is Enuff and talk about those 2 small girls. It sounds personal to me!

Its a waste of your time to be writing post about how people think of your daughter.As a concern parent you should let them talk because it shouldnt effect her as a player. She works hard yes.but,bragging about what she accomplished doesnt really help that much at all. You should let them talk and dont go on here because they just spectate about her it shouldnt matter.
