Its been a while since Derrick Lowe was killing it at WSU. Hawaii doesn't have players like that who have the talent and usually the size to go to the big time colleges. Who from the islands is going to be the next to do so? Or actually, who do you think could become a real college player in the next two or three years? Assuming that they continue to get better i think that Christenson (KAM), Matthews (MPI), and possibly Johnson(PUN) have the best chances. They are all legit 6 foot 3 and above, and while they don't have the skill sets of guards, they could get there with work. Christenson has the shot put he would have to get stronger and work on his ability to do other things besides shoot to get there. Also, he plays volleyball as his main sport so if he had a choice i assume he would play vball in college over bball. Matthews speed and quickness will have to improve but he seems to have the IQ to play in college. Johnson is intriguing because he has the ahtleticism to excel but his skill set is behind Christenson and Matthews. Those were just the first three i though of because of their size. Thoughts and other players???

Too bad Hot Dog Eating wasn't a collegiate sport. Shaka would easily be Division 1 status. Matter of fact, he would be All-American!

Before today's technology with medicine and surgery, BBJ was a legit Division 1 prospect before he blow out his ACL.

Wassup boys. Just heard that Marcus Holyfield will be attending SMU on a football scholarship instead of attending Cal Maritime Academy next year. I know it's out of the blue but it's 100% true. Great news for him.

Really? That's great! Especially since he hasn't played football since the intermediate level.

Will confirm with Coach Jones.

Most local kids get recruited for football rather than basketball.
