Ojonny kamehameha plays punahou on monday for second place in the ilh. then the rest of the ilh plays round robbin tournament to see who is third place. then the third place team will travel down to big island to play honokaa. so dont worry about punahou yet. there is a lot of basketball left in the ilh.

Does Honokaa have much of a team? I hear alot about St. Joes, Keaau, Hilo.

They are talented, they have about 9 total players, tallest person is about 6'1, they have a freshman who starts (I think) close games all year (except for recent game with Hilo)

Aloha Big Isle brothers (and sisters, too!)...

The ILH's 3rd place representative that will travel to the Big Island has yet to be determined. As beanboy mentioned, Kamehameha and Punahou will play tomorrow night at Punahou to determine 2nd and 3rd place respectively. 2nd place will receive the league's 2nd automatic state berth while the 3rd place team will have to enter the ILH post season tourney with the winner heading to Big Island to play the Dragons.

Of course, the obvious pick would be to go with the loser of tomorrow's game as the eventual winner of the tourney. But everyone here knows that crazy things have happened this year...SO STAY TUNED!

Howzit jonnyboy. This one is a tossup where tangibles may play a bigger role in this than normal. There is no doubt that both these teams have the talent but I think X-Factors will be huge in this one. Let's take a look at those factors:

1.) Is Kamehameha mentally and physically drained after that heartbreaking loss to 'Iolani? OR, this loss could fire Kamehameha up.
2.) If Kamehameha had won, Punahou would have been relegated to the 3rd place tourney. Now that Kamehameha has loss, if the Puns win tomorrow they receive an automatic bid to states so 'Iolani's win could have pumped some renewed energy into the Puns.
3.) Punahou will be hosting this game. They have already lost at home to Kamehameha this year. Will they used that loss to fire them up?

Nice, any notable players in both teams?

Yes. Kamehameha has Micah Christenson, one of the states best players at 6'5. The Warriors have a lot of very good guards that have infinite energy and can shoot lights out from the arc. These guys like to bring pressure and create havoc forcing opponents into turning the ball over.

Punahou lost one of its best players due to injury (Taylor Crabb). They still have lots of weapons though starting with their two big young guns, Buckner (6'7") and Johnson (6'5"). They have a very good point guard in Feldman and Cassiday and McFadden are big, athletic and can score.

Both teams are good enough to be in the state final.

They probably have the biggest player in the state. They also have good height across the board. Other than Buckner and Johbson they have Cassiday (6'1), McFadden (6'1), Tuumalo (6'2), Duncan (6'3), Dowsett (6'0), K. Crabb (6'4).

Pretty much a typical looking big Punahou team.

Advantage goes to PUNAHOU if they are the 3rd seeded team in the ILH, Honokaa's gym is small so try imagine punahou playing a 2-3 or 1-3-1 zone you would think they are in a half court or full court press just by going what BBJ stated above of how big and tall they are. And if i was fans of punahou i would be thinking of how i can guarantee get seats in Armory, only can fit 400-500 people unless 0c16 come down and broadcast the game because i'm sure they would not want to sub contract big islands finest ROSEY ROSENTHAL to film game with he's BETA camcorder........ lol

400-500 seats, huh? Is that place expected to be a sellout for the third place game? I wish I could be there!

Fans should be offered free admission "if they enter with a "LATTERN" in there hands!!!!

Lighting is definitely bad - advantage Dragons.
...could be worse, they could play this game in Pahoa!!!??? Prolly needs a few "bat signals" to brighten play in that gym?
