Is this site 90% Kamehameha-Kea'au parents/fans/players/supporters? It just seems like every other post is about Kamehameha...Even when they lose there is a bunch of posts of how well they played and how they are going to dominate next year...

Let me just say that i think very highly of Kamehameha's organization and hope my kids play for them one day, but as of right now they are an average team...Well in the east they are below average, but overall in the biif they are average....They are good enough to be competitive with everyone but not good enough to beat them...

So lets stop this Kamehameha-Kea'au hype train in it's tracks right now...Until you guys start winning at least...

We don't believe you, you need more people....

ps...this isn't meant to be disrespectful in any way...but I just really think you guys need to start being realistic...

@skitso... i'm an old timer, but new to the site.. not a fan of any particular big island school except that i'm beginning to have a liking for st. joe's because it seems like they have the whole package(coaches, players, fans, media)...

...i think what's happening to kam is that they are becomming a victim of their own hype... it's good to brag about a system that you have confidence in but only to your inner circle (coaches, players, JV coaches) and never to the outer circle cause then you set yourself up to be judged accordingly

...sort of like, "you say the system is everything yet schools without a system are beating you" (Hilo) ; "you say your JV team is not competitive because much of the kids never went through the middle school program, yet your JV are losing to schools who never had a middle school program (Hilo, Waiakea) or a middle school (Pahoa)."

...again, it's about humility.. nelson wong had it, people loved him for it and the energy was great and kam must find a way to get back that good energy, or get back nelson wong (or a nelson wong type)..

    ...just a thought..

    Socrates~~~~ Don't know you're birth year, but i'm a 60's born brother.

I like your insight and your unbiased opinions. I would say that you are in the KNOW.

My question is>: Would Nelson Wong be the answer? His type: Deliberate, slow pace and post oriented. Or maybe another alumnus. I like Nelson as a person and as a business affiliate(Big Island Candies). I'm not saying that coach Pacheco is wrong, but he's different. No disrespect. In any case, best of luck to coach Pacheco.

I don't think its all or mostly Kamehameha/Keaau fans, parents or players.

It's just my opinion but I think due to the fact that there 1-5, it makes a good/ bad, controversial conversation piece (to try I figure out whats going wrong) and thats perfectly fine to voice your oppinions and thats what makes it even more interesting to bounce ideas back and forth and to predict the stretch run...

As long as you play hard and don't give up, it's all good in retrospect!!!!

I'm not saying that they will end up in last...but every season theres someone in 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc, etc, and last place "every season". It's always good to come up with the concerns, issues, possible fixes and creative ideas. But just trying to stay possitive for "all" the schools is a good thing.

Lets be happy for the St. Joes, Waiakea's, Hilo's, Keaau's, Kohala's, etc, etc,,,and continue to come up with awesome conversation topics that interest all of us bball junkies.

    auuuh,,maaaan, here I go again....what do I know?

@Bibbyboi: I think alot is written about Kamehameha Keaau because many parents and even their coaches comes on here. I guess they really care what people think about their team. It's funny to read all that has been written about them. Whats the funniest is that they talk in first person thoughts than try to pretend their someone else. It makes for excellent in site on how their thinking.
@ Socrates: You are correct! Nelson had both the Knowledge and Know how to get the best outta of his teams. Yet, others tried to demean that by taking the credit for it. Now that their at the helm what do you have to show for it! Excuses about "wait for next year!" They going win the BIIF. Yeah, yeah! Next year is a ways away & if we wait to next year we midas well wait for 2012 when Apele going be Senior (kid got skills)....Rumor has it that someone leaving Kam and going be the girls coach some place else! Quite funny being that the Coach for that other school is still there! In some ways, I wish the rumors are true so we can get back to our winning ways!
@Skitso: the team as a whole is way overrated, but like they said...wait for next year. I believe they can take it this year & next year & the year after that. The potential is there. But, the potential is there in alot of BIIF teams this year. Look at Kealakehe / Waiakea / Hilo & Keaau. On any given day either one can beat the other. I don't really care about D2 - it will always be second fiddle to D1. Does anyone care if your a D2 Champion? Really!!! The best of the what???
Yes, now, now...I will get grief from St. Joe & Kohala fans! Good for them & their programs. But, they should be D1 too! Heck, they both beating D1 schools anyway!

@Luna86.. yes indeed, life is short.. and the way i eat, it's even shorter for me.. if we are biased it's more towards the east side schools simply because i can assume most of us reside on east side and that's our focus and the names we are dropping are eastside biased as well.. but no biggy, it comes with the teritory.. and it's fun.. and by the way treat the wife to a nice night out..

    @ Socrates,

With the prices at fine dinning restaruants and the skimpy portions (its all about appearance now days )...we are staying at home with some....

Fresh Ahi (with chilli pepa' wata') and Jumbo shrimp (with garlic butter)..along with a nice toss salad!!!!

    How's that sound?

    @ HBN808,

I kind of agree with you regarding D2...its too bad, cause your right...it is "second fiddle" in a way. If you win the D2 state championship, its' like your not the "overall state champ". On the D1 stage, its looked at as "the best" and supposedly the bigger stronger schools. (supposedly, but not completely true as well)
So in our case on the big Island I feel bad for St. Joe and Kohala (I'm definately pulling for them to win the states in the D2) but it's still not the same if it went back to the OG days, when everybody is "one" and winner take all. That leaves "no doubt"

u know y every other post is about Kamehameha...DRAMA. and right now being 1-5 and everybody harping on their coach it's the best thing to "gossip" about, lol. i mean we could be talking about all the things happening with Hilo, how good St. Joe is, but it's just not as compelling as talking about "As Kamehameha Turns"

The original post was from last year..lol...This year they ARE what they are hyped up to be...and i'm really happy for them...I'm hoping they can take the D1 title away from the ILH and maybe the biif can repeat in D2..Maybe then we can get some respect when it comes to seeding...
