LeBron headed to ....

    Okay, LeBron will announce his final decision at 3 p.m. Thursday on ESPN.

    I've said all along Chicago. But if Cleveland, with new coach Byron Scott, can sign LeBron as well as another top free agent, that may be enough for the King to stay in Ohio.

    What team do you say?

    ... and where in the heck have Basketball Jones and Hoop Fanatic been? The site's been buzzing the past week or so and no blogs from them.

    The fact that he's having an hour long press conference indicates, to me at least, that he's staying in Cleveland.

    would not be surprised in the least if lbj put all this on, only to scout and find out, what directions teams are going in. important info to have if cavs are going to make their run.

    It's interesting to read today's stories on Wade and Bosh signing with the Heat and neither one knows how much money they will be making. Bosh said it's all about winning and not the money.

    So, maybe the door is wide open for LeBron to sign with the Heat and all three will make the $15 million per year to put together a super team. I don't know if we've ever seen a team with three superstars in their prime playing together.

    Thursday should be an incredible day -- for the team that gets LeBron and where the new power structure stays put or changes address. I can hardly wait for LeBron's announcement.

    ESPN is reporting it looks like LeBron is headed to the Miami Heat. Wow, LeBron, Wade and Bosh ... that's impressive stuff.

    If it's true, give Pat Riley credit for getting all three superstars on the same page and -- sorry Kobe fans -- committed to winning a lot of titles in Miami.

    I am going to go out and say it now, The Miami Heat will not win the NBA title this year. Even with Lebron, Wade, and Bosh, they are still going to need a bench and role players and they will not have the money to get anyone good.

    I'm pretty sure if James goes there there will be a long list of decent players willing to take pay cuts to play with that team...

    Decent players or end of the bench players? Most have signed elsewhere. Might get some guys like korver that go there but nothing special. But I could be wrong. Then again those end of the bench players could end up great with those guys. But I still say they won't win the title.

    if the can get Korver, Kapono and a few defensive minded players and a defensive big man,they are going to win it this year...

    Maybe they can get Mourning and Seikally to sign.

    Too bad, I thought Lebron was the best in the game.I thought he was good enough to carry cleveland to a title.It showed he wasn't.Give pierce and all the other stars credit for staying put.

    stunning! miami clearly the favorite to win east. cleveland, overnight, went from contenders to cellar dwellars. puts miami over the top. give pat riley credit for this one! cant blame lebron. teams ship players off overnight, all the time, without telling them at times! lbj needed a guard. well, he got one!

    @hoopwaiian

    Lebron needed some people who could take the pressure off of him in the final 6 minutes of the game, regardless if it was a guard or not.

    @bibbyboi

    From what I have been reading on ESPN and FOXSports, it looks like Mike Miller is leaning towards signing a 5 year deal with the Heat.

    very dissapointed in lebrons choice to go to the heat with wade and bosh. bron has nothing to gain by jumping on the bandwagon, if he wins 3 championships it will be expected if he doesnt he will tarnish his legacy. did patrick ewing, john stockton, clyde drexler, kevin durant, dirk, mj, david robinson leave there teams to ensure themselves a title? true some have won titles but they stuck it out, not skip town to the best situation. true bron wade and bosh ( who is not a superstar ) did take a pay cut, big deal they just pre paid for a ring! true champions fight and improve there game and depend on there teams to put the pieces together, imangine if mj left the bulls early to play for the knicks, boston or the lakers would he still br considered the best to ever play, i doubt it. locally this is like the punahou situation they get everybody and everybody wants to go there, i'm sure there are those of you out there that hope punahou loses and laugh when they do. kudos to all the student athletes in hawaii that attend the smaller schools and the oia schools by choice you have a lot more backbone losing year after year than the guy who sits on the bench or plays in garbage time and calls himself a champion.

    i applaud him for swallowing his pride and doing what he wanted...screw what everyone else thinks or wants...good for him...he's not Jordan and doesn't need to follow the same blueprint as him to be great...

    i also was a lebron supporter in the kobe vs lebron debate but after this kobe is heads and shoulders over lebron, lebron doesnot have that competitive edge that kobe has, at least kobe is his own man and he has the hardware to show for it.

    Lebron is no doubt the better player than Kobe still, however Kobe will seem to come out on top as the greater competitor.

    Still Jordan is head and shoulders above the both of these guys with Lebron having the greatest potential to be better than Jordan, regardless of where he is IMO.

    Seriously take a look at how monumental this is. Never before have there been this many truly great players on the same team. And this was a once in a lifetime chance for them. There will probably never again be this sort of opportunity. Where one team can actually afford 3 super stars and where all 3 want to play together.

    I have no problem with Lebron hitting the free agent market and heading to Miami.

    I do have an issue with the hour long press conference. Seriously, if you are going to leave your home, your fans, your roots, and disappoint so many people, why have the press conference? My goodness.

    espn reported that prior to meeting with lebron, pat riley was seen pacing the hallway waiting for lbj. took all 3 hours in his meeting! must have been one mean rap! signed 3 of the top 4 free agents! how many rings does he have now? 6? 5 with lakers and 1 ( for now ) with miami? mean! did a backdoor on the rest of the nba! stroke of genius! showtime in miami! still lbj's number 1 fan!

    What's wrong here? A free agent is just that! A FREE Agent. LBJ is leaving a lot with family and origin but he is still a free agent. He is calculating and mature beyond his years so it was a business and winning decision for him so now we get to see if this works! If he went to the Lakers no one who are fans would bee commenting so let's see what happens.

    It's not like J West giving Gasol to the Lakers for free with years left on his contract!

    LBJ and Wade signed contracts wth clauses in the past so they will ensure playing ball with whom they are compatible. It was legal and within the guidelines of their contracts. A rich pick-up game with players keeping their five in tact so they can insure playing most of the day instead of waiting 4-5 games to get back on the court. Everyone does it, even I did and they just did it with millions riding on their future. Their decision...their consequence good or bad.
