I've been watching the NCAA mens summer league and i've been surprised at the small crowds. I mean, where else can you see Derrick Lowe, Julian Sensley, the Broadus brothers, Adhar from UH, Mamadou from Chaminade and great basketball for free? I'm posting this because this week is the final week and I just thought i'd share before all the hoop fans on here that don't know yet, don't miss out on this chance. The games have been getting better every week. Last Saturday, Artie Wilsons Electricians team was in a must win against Adhar Mayen and the Fire squad. The Electricians have current pro-players Derrick Lowe and Rashaun Broadus on their team. They had Bobby Nash, but he hasn't been playing the last few games (not sure why). But the Electricians weren't lead by any of those guys, it was the high school head coach for Damien Kawika Smith who put on an awesome show. He put in 38 points in the win and woke up his team from whatever sleeping slump they were in.
The second game was Julian Sensley's Army team versus Brad and Cord Andersons Medical team. Needless to say, Julians team won but the game was awesome and had lots of high flying, fast paced excitement that you would expect from such high caliber players.
Tomorrow night is the first night of the play-offs and Saturday is the championship game. I know the 4 teams that are playing are Army (Julian Sensley), Electricians (Derrick Lowe), Grant (Geremy Robinson) and Strategies (Mamdou). Should be awesome.
Come out and support some of your favorite players or at least come and support great basketball. I'll be there. Look for the guy with the funkiest shoes. I'm wearing something special for that night. LOL. Like I said, it's free! It's at Manoa park and the first game is at 6 with the second to follow at about 7:30. I'll holla...

Thanks for the update! I am definitely heading up to watch the semi's and finals, especially since I live and work so close...

Glad to hear my brother from another mother, Kawika Smith, is still tearing it up! Go on, my brother!!! Represent the mauve and gold!

Wow! What an amazing set of games last night. First, Derrick Lowe and the Electricians took on Julian Sensley and Army. On paper and even on the court, it looked like Army should've and would've pummelled the Electricians. But the heart of the team with the Gold jerseys showed out and totally subdued the bigger Army squad. Lead by Derrick Lowe, Rashaun Broadus and Kawika Smith, they ran the game virtually from start to finish. Afterwards, I'm not sure what happened, but Julian Sensley started to charge after one of the Electrician players and it almost looked like a scene from the Cardinals Reds game the other day. Guess he doesn't take losing well. That's what got him to where he's at, I suppose, but that was unnecessary and only served to make him look bad. He's still one of the best players in Hawaii though.

The second game was Wealth lead by Chaminades Mamadou against Geremy Robinsons Grantco team. It was one of the moat exciting games I've ever seen in Hawaii. Grantco is so athletic, they'd be a competitive semi-pro team. And Geremy Robinson still has the ability to go lights out. But Wealth was just to strong and their team game proved too much for Grantco.

So that means Saturdays championship game will be Electricians vs Wealth. It'll start at 7pm and is always @ Manoa Rec. Hope to see you guys there. I got another pair of hot joints to wear that'll top the infra-red air max's I wore last night. Holla at me

Where were you sitting last night?

Low did well, not only scoring 45, but also controlled the tempo for Electricans.

I wouldn't say Wealth was lead by Mamadou, would you?

Pspe, recently drafted after Central Medical did not qualify for the playoffs, did well. He scored 26. I think Mounts also had double digits.

I agree with you Ed but maybe on the defensive end for Mamadou? He must have blocked 6 shots and changed another six.

Low was just....Low! You knew he had to play up for them to have a chance. Kawika Smith, Broadus, WOW! Too bad Low will be flying out tonight and will miss the championship game. Tuesday night was a great night for Hawaii basketball fans.
