    You won't find a lot of information online. Currently you'd be in decent shape browsing sports at the Advertiser home page to get any listed scoops.

    Aside from that, hang tight here and make sure to check back daily. As far as information regarding this sort of thing, this site is your best bet.

    Good Luck!

    Howzit Judge!

    Last night I was chit chatting with Kalaheo Asst. Coach Wally Marciel and he was excited to inform me that he has his own camp coming up this weekend!

    Hawaii Select Basketball Camp 2009.
    June 28th at Le Jardin Academy Gym in Kailua.
    Open to boys and girls ages 5-13.
    Session One: 8:00-11:00
    Session two: 12:00-3:00
    Cost is $30.00 for one session and $50.00 for both.
    Come earlier for registration.
    Players will be required to bring a water bottle.

    Coaches: Walter Marciel, Hiram Akina, Alika Smith and Ryan Hogue.

    The Hawaii Select Basketball program has provide opportunity, growth, and a sense of pride for over 100 of Hawaii's top athletes. Founded in the 80's by the legendary Pete Smith, Hawaii Select has been a vessel for Hawaii's top prep basketball players to prove that they can compete against the nations best in Las Vegas.

    This year's Hawaii Select team features 10 athletes from 7 high schools in the OIA, ILH and BIIF. The 2009 Select Team will be competing in the Vision Sports Main Event in Las Vegas July 22-26. In addition, the team will be participating in the Iolani Summer League June 11-Jult 10.

    Campers of the Hawaii Select Basketball Camp will develop their basketball skills through concepts such as:

    * Ball handling and dribbling.
    * Shooting
    * Passing
    * Offense with and without the ball.
    * Defense.
    * Rebounding.

    The windward side is blessed to have a great opportunity like this one.

    I can still remember taking my sons and nephews to the Pete Smith Basketball Camps and staying to watch and learn from some of the best myself.

    Mahalos Coach Marciel and good luck with your Hawaii Select team my friend!
