There is a lot of knowledge on this site. There are baseball and football all star games. Basketball doesn't have an all-star game. There is enough talent spread out in the OIA to give the ILH a good game. With the connections some of you have, to bad this couldn't be a reality. What players would be named to an all-star team?

Would it be only senior or all players?

i think their should be one at least a west vs. the east or something like that it would be one more step on helping hawaii athletes get their name out there for college

@StL, we're trying to set up an all star game in Hilo, so if someone can oraganize an OIA team and an ILH team it would be great for them to come over to the BI for a great weekend of High school boys and girls basketball.

This is what I would do for the OIA,

I would use the same format the OIA Volleyball all star tournament.

Create four all star teams from players across the league, and have a 4-team, two-day tournament at a site convenient for everyone to attend.

Brew, sounds like a good idea. ILH, OIA, BIIF, MIL, KIF. It will showcase the best, great for college recruiting. Remember no matter what school you go to Punahou, Campbell, or what have you, these kids are local and will stand up for each other on the mainland while in college. An all-star game is long overdue! It shouldn't be limited to seniors but the best players.

Tru dat StL and @ mrtirade I'm not saying anything about the BI I'm just inviting the OIA,MIL,KIF, and ILH to the BI to join us if we are able to oraganize this all star game in Hilo. And if they plan one on Oahu I would gladly help to organize a team from the BI to join u folks on Oahu.

An all-star game doesn't have to be sanctioned by high school bodies although it would be nice. If I am not mistaken, private sponsorship or organizations can be used. Liabilty waivers signed by players and parents. It could be a fund-raiser.

Great Ideas everyone. I was actually going to bring this up to my AD. Since I moved here from the mainland I have always wondered why there is no all-star game at the end of the season. Hopefully they can do something to get some games going like they do for V-ball. I will you all know if I hear anything.

Good move Roosevelt Coach, Hawaii Basketballers need this, let us know if you hear anything. There is enough people on this blog to organize a quality all-star game(s).
