Ditto. Many dream of making that shot, Kainoa was able to live it!

as i look back, when iolani inbounded the ball, they knew where kam's defense were going to be! when kainoa popped out behind the picks, it was daylight city! great call by the coaching staff of iolani! BUT, bigger props to those two players who set those picks for chu! couldnt have been set better at any level of the game today! those two guys deserve steak dinners!

Just an inside scoop for you Hoopwaiian. The play was designed to go to Tulongahri on a back door. Kainoa was the bait. Give Kainoa credit for making a memorable shot AND give Andrew Skalman the unnoticed credit of passing the ball to the only player that scored points for Iolani in the 4th quarter. Andrew saw the missed assignment on Chu and never hesitated getting Kainoa the ball off the double screen for the wide open 3. THAT'S a point guard!

mahalo ed! you got bragging rights for life! kainoa dropped the heartbreaker! there are alot of fathers out there who dream of their son hitting the game winner, for any game, let alone the state championship game! unfortunately, only one dad could enjoy that experience for 2010! YOU, should be VERY proud!

Smoked meat is the fruit of the aina!
You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. They get smoked meat-kabobs, smoked meat creole, smoked meat gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir fried. Get pineapple smoked meat, lemon smoked meat, cocnut smoked meat, pepper smoked meat. Smoked meat soup, smoked meat stew, smoked meat salad, smoked meat and potatoes, smoked meat burger, smoked meat sandwich.
That's about it!

Shit Brian. We drove all the way up to Waimea to eat the smoked meat and eggs. They said they were out. In Cattle Country, 8am, and they out of smoked meat?!? What's wrong with this picture?
That's like Ken's Pancake House and no more pancakes.
Like Leonard's, but no more malasadas.
Hamura's, but no more saimin. Sam Sato's but no more dry-min!
Char Hung Sut, but no more manapua.
State Tournament, but no more 'Iolani!
No can!

Yes, Great Play!
Tulonghari hit the Winning ILH Championship Buzzer Beater against Kamehameha.
Thus making it a Smart call.Kamehameha went from a M2M Defense into a Zone Defense giving Chu a Clean Look at the Rim as the Defense set back into Zone!
All Chu needs is a Good Look!If you look back months ago, I did "Make the Call"
Kainoa Chu 2010 POY!Stellar Senior Year for Kainoa Chu!

@ Ed
You're right! I forgot about that. I had the kalua pig hash and that was great as well. You also forgot about Ken's oxtail stew! You didn't leave much for the cat!
I guess we gotta go back and try again! WHEN???!!! You call Earl!
2Dhoop, once again, you have corrected my blog. You're right. Trevyn hit the same shot to win the ILH. I forgot about that because Trevyn was impressive at the defensive end against Kamehameha. They need an "All Defensive Team" for the state tourney as well!

For the BIIF imo Jacob Andrade's 3 from deep to send the game into double overtime against HPA has to be #1...The game was back and forth the whole time and Sasha from HPA just hit a 3 to put them up by 3 then Jacob comes right back steps a little bit in from the center circle and drains it...
Isaiah Ekau's last second shot against Kohala in BIIF's is up there too...
Also Isaiahs block on HPA's center in the East/West All Star game was bonkers too...HPA's center went up for the jam and it didn't look like Isaiah was close enough to get to it but he sure did...he went a few levels above and pinned it...

What's the word on Coach? He coming back?
Posted 1 year ago # -
what were the names of the two players who set the picks for kainoa? and how many players besides chu, graduate this year?
Posted 1 year ago # -
Ed would know for sure but I thought it was Sukumaran and Tulongahri with Arakawa inbounding.
Chu, Skalman and Arakawa have graduated. They have Tulongahri, Sheer, Sukumaran, Simmons, Saito, Ching, Hogan and Baldomero(?) as seniors with Vega, O'Leary, and the Kauai player as juniors. Reece Foy is the lone sophomore returning from last season.
