no doubt kaimuki is one of the worst schools in this state, they are even thinking about disabling all electives for students.

So if it's not for education, or it's not due to geographical distance, what could be the real reason for the transfer? Can anyone take a stab in the dark?

HF, maybe Kelly Grant and Aaron's father are just dying for that championship don't you think

But you said earlier that it was a coincidence that he is going to Kaimuki? Now you are saying he is going there for a chance at a championship. Which one is it?

We all can read in between the lines. Like Shaka said, "Grant gets more transfer than a Honolulu Bus Driver."

Let's be real, Coach Grant recruits and Fernandez is going to Kaimuki to play ball.

If there is another reason, I would love to hear it....

Kelly grant does NOT recruit. These players are tranfering because they see a better opportunity (in basketball) for themselves. Kelly is one of the best coaches in the state, and kaimuki has a team that can contend for the OIA and State title. Don't be making accusations of recruiting. If a kid and his parents are looking for a better opportunity (in basketball), what other choices do they have in the public schools? From what I hear Fernandez is 18 yrs old, he doesn't need a GE, he's an adult, he can "live" where he wants, without a parent.

As I said earlier, in the end, it doesn't matter.

The rules are in place for things like this to happen. So if it's legal nobody should have a beef with it. Like parents who send their kids to private schools, it is what it is.
Not saying it's right, but it's permitted.
Coach Grant is a quality person who runs a great program. If a kid shows up on his doorstep, what is he suppose to do?

Let's be real, most of the kids in Hawaii will never smell college basketball. So isn't the smart play to enroll the child in the best academic school possible? That way the kid will be better prepared for college? Or isn't that the priority anymore?
