My I.L.H. FAB 6, please add on U.H. Lab's Chong-Viernes to complete my 6 All-Star players......Thank you.......As I spent some time brainstorming through the I.L.H. teams for thier star players, I realized that every school had alot of senior players that will be graduating next year, Punahou, St. Louis, Kamehameha, Mid Pac and so on. Except for Iolani, who has alot of very good skilled underclassmen on thier Varsity Basketball Team.......Coach Doc might not want to think about retiring anytime soon with such a bright future around the corner!!!! Just my thoughts....

Very nice picks. is Ellis eligible to play this year. I know that he has been a part of the varsity for a while now and I thought that he had used up his eligibility. Anyone know the truth to this. Also I think that if Terai had some help at Maryknoll he would have a chance to be one of the better players. He doesnt score much but can handle the ball better than anyone in the league. Also I would add derego at Kam to the list. Kam could end up with 3 players on the first team next year. Cant wait to watch.

Even if Makaula comes back to play his senior year, how do you know that Hale will even play him. He has been on the bench for 2 years now. Why would it be different now?

hoopfanatic I totally agree with you. By the way nice picks by everyone. What's everyones best picks at guard position and big man in ILH then OIA.
ILH- guard- feldman(pun),GOnsalves(SL),Marciel(IOL, not sure of sp),Won(mpi),Chu(IOL),Holyfield(mpi)
Bigs-Scheer(iol),anyone know the name of the big kid at st.louis. I'll update rest later.
Still researching for my OIA picksPosted 3 months ago # -
Howzit HoopFanatic, how are you tonight! You are so frickin right about thier coach/player relationship! I truly hope that Kimo gets a fair chance to show his game and make a good impression on Coach Hale this year and leave the past (what ever it is or was) behind them huh! That is if he even wants/needs/cares to go through all of that BS to play again anyway!.....................ILHFORLIFE, I noticed that you choose Bigs- Scheer after saying he did "little" in Vegas?! Picking 3 Iolani players and none of them were Pablo Warner? Dude, Pablo was first team allstate last year! Thats ok, it's your choices and if Iolani does well they should all have a fair chance to be allstars just like everyone else does..................... Anyone see or hear from PunahouPride? Cuz, please don't go back to just being a blog reader again. Never take text messaging so seriously, the reality is you can say whatever you want regardless of us or what we say (just dogging you out cuz)! Consider it your enishiation and stop being so unnessasarily sensitive if thats what your doing my friend and come on down, reopen your big ego/mouth I kinda miss it!.......................BBF69, your right! Derego is a beast around the basket. Expect alot from him next season.......BBF69, pass me one of them beers braddah!

Pii Minns is not a top guard in the ILH but Matt Feldman is? And where is Pablo Warner?
Posted 3 months ago # -
Not bad picks, ilhforlife. Just wondering, like ILHFan2, where is Minns, Chong-Viernes and Warner? I would include these 3 as top guards. I think Sheer will eventually be a big man pick. In my books, Sheer plays big!!

2Dhoop, after watching Tacon use Kimo during his freshman year, his future looked very bright. But unfortunately, Kimo hasn't really prospered. No one knows that real reason. Hopefully, the kid will persevere and make the most of his senior season. The kid is talented. Hopefully this will be his year to shine.

Howzit HoopFanatic and the rest of the HawaiiHoops gang! Yes, I also believe that being a 3 sport player at Punahou such as Makaula, he doesn't spend the bulk of his time playing alot of basketball (maybe the K-Town Team, coached by his father in just one league). Year long practice is split 3 ways with baseball, basketball and I'm sure a majority of it football and weight training. Other basketball players (at Punahou and other schools)are playing all year round and developing beyond the 3 sport players because of the time and dedication devoted. Of course that is my opinion and I might and could be wrong. ILHFan2 and Hoopsitiz I'm with you guys. Mimms is a good player, but maybe ILHFORLIFE is looking for a true point guard which Mimms isn't and Feldman is. If so I would recommend somone more like a Marciel (Iolani), Skalman (Iolani), Dumlao (Kamehameha), Samson (Mid Pac), Terai (Marynoll), Gonsalves (St. Louis) or even teammate Toma (Punahou) as a better choice than Feldman would be. Again, just my opinion. Hoopsitiz, I see that you favor Scheer alot. Kainoa Scheer and his family are very, very, very good friends of mine, we speak to each other daily. Don't think that he can play on your team or that team you coach because of his father. His dad really keeps a tight leash and and is strick about where he plays, who he's with, where he's at, etc. Played for Nobriga then Makaula forever at K-Town (left after Coach Nobriga Moved) and misses his teammates and Coach Makuala at K-Town. Played with Tolonghari and Skalman at Coach Lee's Hawaii Warriors and went to Vegas and loved traveling. Also misses Coach Lee and that Warrior Team. Recently recruited by KBB Coach Chu and Coach Tom, who quickly made a good impression on Kainoa with thier fairness among players. Works out constantly with his teammates and best friends Chu and Tolonghari on agility, footwork and strength training because of KBB Coach Chu, who wants a State Championship for Iolani now! Has been a Manager on Iolani's Varsity Basketball Team in 8th grade, joining the team his freshman year. Most recently was accepted to play for Coach Ush and Coach Hirata on the Hawaii Raiders (Iolani's Summer League Team) and went to Vegas (I'm telling you, Kainoa loves to travel) and has been jazzed about playing for the Hawaii Raiders ever since. In fact, Coach Hirata has kind of taken him under his wing by inviting him to private practices or just hanging out (somtimes with D. Low) sort of like a mentor/friendship thing. So to this moment Scheer is either playing/practicing basketball or answering to his father who/what/where/when and why awhile I sit with his father and drink beer and laugh. But, Hoopsitiz your are so right about Scheer being a solid player one day in the future because of his overall workethic and love for the game..........PunahouPride good buddy, please come back and fill us in about the Buff and Blu my friend...........Aloha!

Hey 2D, just stating my opinion as far as who I think will eventually be a "BIG", big man player. I think that would be Kainoa Scheer. Not looking to putting a team together, just commenting on this thread.

Right on Hoopsitiz, so your not Coach Darren from the Sharks. Truly my bad! I feel like an idiot! Ever since you said you had a ILH Summer League and Las Vegas Team I began to assumed or guessed that you were him and wasn't going to say. Sorry for the lecture, I know I gave you an earfull.I really thought that all this time you were Darren! Good big man pick!

LOL, classic! Wow, boy do you talk way too much 2D! Open mouth, insert foot, LOL! Just classic! I'll start calling you "ilhforlife " because your soooo lost right now! LOL!But honestly 2D, good try! Hoopsitiz said something like "My team is in the ILH summer and going to LV". I think there were 3 teams in summer league. The Sharks which is Darrens team. The Raiders and Tsukazaki. 2 went to LV. Sharks and Raiders. So, process of elimination? Good try, could still be! Try again! Use your other foot in mouth this time! LOL!

Ever saw that commercial WISH YOU WERE SOMEWHERE ELSE?! That's so "me" right about now. See what "I" get for playing mind games. BACKFIRED!!!!!! No offence Hoopsitiz, truely my bad and I apologize! Hey PunahouPride come and give me some! Perfect opportunity buddy! I really deserve it! I'm ready. I deserve it tonight.

Even monkeys fall out of trees. Dust off and try, try again. BoxoutRebound is right, could still be. Process of elimination. Nobody is going to come clean if identified.

One word. KARMA! Know what I'm saying! What high school did Parker McLachlin graduate from? PUNAHOU BABY!!!!
Posted 3 months ago # -
yeah 2dhoop...i was looking just at point guards. thats why i chose samson(quick, handle the ball, shoot, score, and D got better), feldman(score, good on-ball D), gonsalves(great D and scoring ability), marciel(quick, good D, and can get to the hoop), and good point in adding terai. He's an awesome point guard and quick but the problem is his height disadvantage. I would also put chu at a top shooting guard not PG. sorry everyone i would say my best 5 at every spot but i have been kind of lazy at the moment hehe. sorry i also would add the noah kid from uhlab to my point guard list, but no doubt Pi'i is a top guard. also for big men i think that new kid at uh lab could do well.. we'll just have to see. Did you all see that really tall kid form maryknoll play? I heard he wasn't too good at basketball. any opinons on him or on my guard list??? please respond

Ya Fanatic, I'm feeling pretty "small" today. I thought I was so sure, with that summer league and Vegas and everything! But, not him! I guess this monkey fell out of the tree like Swish mentioned. Pretty embrassing let me tell you braddah. Pretty messed up! Hoopsitiz, sorry cuz, totally my bad! Misidentification on my assumption! PPride, did you enjoy that? I must have made your day, this was instant karma huh! Glad your back buddy!

Could anyone list like a top 5 for every position for this upcoming season to see who to look out for @ that specific position from around the state

Is p-Pride only going to come on here when someone from that school wins. Typical Pun person. How did Wie do in her last tourney. Oh thats right she didnt make the cut. Stop talking about other jackasses from other sports and talk about basketball. Your team won last year, no thanks to that sorry ass coach of yours, but they wont get it done this year, thanks to that sorry ass coach of yours.
As for the big kid at Maryknoll, they have 2. One is not bad and the other is just tall. The taller one just started playing basketball from what I am told. I dont think he will play much. They have lots of size but no shooters and they will struggle all year long.
And to 2D, man you can make a frickin book with all the stuff you wrote. I had to take a break and come back and read. I love it though. But I am with you on who we thought he was. As most have said, still might be. Maybe he will tell us the truth. I will come clean. Hello world, I'm TIGER WOODS. There I said it. I feel so much better now that I know you guys know who I am. I have a lot of time right now. I plan on coming back and whipping Parkers ass at my first tourney. How you like that Pun-Pride.Posted 3 months ago # -
Thanks BBF69, I mean Tiger Woods for your support braddah! Aloha is a two way street my friend!
