Iolani by 2. Maybe in overtime, maybe not.

Iolani has home field, they won a big away game, everyone shot well, they are playing team and platoon ball. And they've been looking ahead to this game for awhile. They got game, and they got the crowd.

Punahou has a deep bench, a couple great defenders and scorers and plays better away than at home, but their team defense isn't consistently disciplined (or even apparent, depending on who's in), their ego gets in the way (too cool, detached or whatever...no urgency), and they are coming off the Carnival.

Pun might be able to press better than they did with Kam. And Iolani might be able to press better than they did at Kam, too. Iolani's big guys need a big game, as do Puns. Pun's seniors both better physically and worse IQ wise than Iolani.

It's hard to say, but Iolani gets the nod, given their game at Kam.

Iolani in a close one tonight, 42-41 over Punahou.

Punahou probably lost much more than just at the scoreboard. Taylor Crabb popped his ankle in the 4th quarter with about 4 minutes left to go. It looked pretty bad as it is the same ankle he rolled last year in the state quarterfinals against Kahuku. Also, Henry Cassiday looked like he hurt his ankle as well in the 2nd quarter. Don't know the extent but he never returned to the game.

Punahou's unearned "swagger" looks to have lost them the #1 seed. Good. Time for them to start playing team basketball-- playing for each other. PNut said it best, "too cool, detached or whatever...no urgency."

I feel really bad for Taylor Crabb. The same injury to the same ankle that he hurt last year and right before volleyball season. By the looks of it he could be done for the season. His parents, Paula and Chris, are top-notch people and my family is lucky to count them as good friends.

I agree Jones. The Crabbs are good people. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Taylor.

@inyofas, chill and just be ready for Saturday. The Puns beat Saints twice already this year both times by 20+ points. We'll see if your coach woke up come Saturday. Good luck to the crusaders-you guys have nothing to lose, so play hard and bring it because as of right now Punahou still has the edge even with out Crabb and Cassiday.
