Roosevelt's defense is awesome! Shut down Kailua completely in the 2nd half.

    A very smart scrappy team.

Congrats to Roosevelt. Very nice closing to the game...took care of the ball and played some excellent defense down the stretch. Pale is a very nice player - a lot better than I expected. He seems to get double/double's almost effortlessly.

Congrats to Roosevelt and Coach Hathaway. They showed a lot of heart in that game and fought their way to the title. I thought the Delo Santos (sp?) kid provided the spark playing injured. Kinda pulled the Willis Reed.

Johnson played great in the few minutes that he played. I didn't plan on using him, but we were short-handed and the guards got into foul trouble. He had some nice assists in those couple of minutes. But great game by all my players. Pono Patoc stepped up and had some big points and Robert Willis went in and played good D for a few minutes to give the regulars some rest. A couple of guys that you don't hear much about really helped last night.

I think that there are some great teams in the D2 tourney this year. They asked me the same question on the radio yesterday. I know that St. Josephs is a real good team. I watched them play Moanalua this year and they looked good. Seabury Hall is another good team with about 8 guys that seem like the same player. Great shooters on that team and some good height. I have not watched that much of the ILH but I know that Coach Hess has a good team there with some size and that Coach Walt always gets the most out of his team at University. And finally Kailua is real good. They are a team that I don't think people are going to want to play. Fast PG and one of the biggest posts in the state with some shooters. I don't know who the other teams are yet, but I am sure they will all be good. Take Care.

Well i have seen your team played in pre-season (Merv Lopes) and your guard play is great and aggresive. Yes Seabury has guards that is about Kaipo Pale's height and St. Joe has this 6'5" dood with good guard play as well. Though it should be a great state tourney and i wish you luck!

That what I love about this team. Might not be the best basketball players out there, but they work their asses off. And they will never give up in a game. Thanks for the comment Mainland.

Coach...the patience, jump stops, ball fakes, etc that your team displayed through Kailua's trapping defense is a sign of a well disciplined and high IQ'd squad. This will take you far into the tournament. St Joe's will really put pressure on your perimeter defense and might be a really good matchup to watch. IMO, both you and St Joe's are very similar. Pale has a clear edge on Fairman, but St Joe can pressure you all over the court...love to see that as the final game. I would also love to see Pahoa's Ekau battle underneath with Pale...would probably be the most intriuging individual matchup. Good luck to you guys.
