    1st team WAIAKEA/ST JOE ALL-TOURNEY RESTAURANTS

G-kuhio grill If you run a half court offense then this is the place you wanna go because it takes a long time to get your food, but ono
G-koji's a hole in a wall kinda place, best to eat here breakfast time. Guard has to see the court because the best parking is across the street and he might get hit by a car if he is looking down on he's dribble
c-kawamoto's hopefully your team gets off to an early start because this restaurant runs out of food by 1200-1000 in the afternoon.bestest salad
F-nori's Make sure you go to NORI's and not the KOREAN bar next door.If calls are not going your way be humble because police station is right across street
F-hilo lunch center The merrie monarch is in april so your team is safe from MAHU's. place is near hilo civic
IF GAME GOES INTO OVERTIME THEN KENS IS BEST AND SAFE PLACE TO EAT

Hats off to you Kea'au congrat's.

I been at the waiakea side watching the games and have you heard the team that everyone has been ranting & raving about and placing them #1 for the BIIF & #5 in the top 10 in the state because of the two transfers LOST to Kealakehe What's up with that!
No but to be honest they have the talent but No discipline, No heart and you can see they don't bond together as a team and that will be their downfall.

Saw Waiakea play not so much on height I think their tallest is Furumo 6"1 but they have physical, strong & quickness players. They play really well defense, Moves the ball around alot trying to create an open shot or a pass to the inside. You can see they play with alot heart and as a team unselfish.

I would of love to see St. Joeseph & Kea'au play tonight good luck to both teams, but I will be watching the games at waiakea between Hilo/Waimea @ 6:00pm & Waiakea/Kealakehe @ 7:30pm. Big losses tonight for hilo & waiakea I hear Scotty wong, 2 other players from hilo & Mattos from waiakea going to hilo high winter ball.

Must of been really good games, wish I was there to watch. Congrats to Keaau!!!

Waiakea girls won there first game at the Moanalua tournament and will play Moanalua tonight, which I think will be a very good game.

Kona lost to Southridge(ranked #24 in the nation) by 5. They were leading by six, but I think the height got to them. Lia led the way with 19 and Dawnyelle had 15. Kona plays Mid Pac today at 3pm, which should be a really good game.

Response to BIIFFan Kea'au has 2 good guards but I don't know if I would consider them the best guard combo in the BIIF that will remain to be seen. To me there's no outstanding guard and/or guards that would qualify them to be the best in the BIIF I think it's still early to tell.

Im not saying that this should take any credit away from Kea'au, but lets be real now, Iolani has only had 4 days of practice as a full team, and really its not a full team because they dont have Andrew Skalman, hes playing in the football All-Star game, but congrats to Kea'au.

In addition to Skalman, the Raiders were without 3 other potential starters Trevyn Tulonghari, Jarrett Arakawa, and Kainoa Scheer...

Saw the St. Joe vs Kealakehe championship game. What a game I have to admit I heard about St. Joe being a good team but this is the first time I seen St. Joe play and their a well rounded discipline team coach harry is doing a terrific job. I was also surprised with Kealakehe being they have only 1 retun player but their fast, very physical & can shoot the 3 pointers.

Judging by this tournament I think it can be any team. Every team is about even or maybe 1 or 2 teams a little better but no team that is unbeatable. It's going to be a dog fight this year between the D1 teams for the BIIF'S CHAMPS and to earn their spot to go to the state tournament. But good luck to all and I'll be there watching.

Saw the 3rd place game between Kea'au & Waiakea. Waiakea lost 41 - 47 Libao & Morante did not play due to injuries & disciplinary actions so that was a huge lost for waiakea but Mattos was playing and did well scored 15 points. Too bad he did'nt play against the Kealakehe game don't know what would of happen maybe they would of been playing in the championship game.

I know its just the Preseason, but the best big man (moves /determination/passion)is Kamahemeha Hawaii's "Jayce Carvalho"
Can you imagine if there guards come around and he gets some help under the boards?

This year Kamehameha goes as Apele and Carvalho goes!

    Regarding

BIIFFan, I would not anoint them (Kea'au guards) as the best just yet, but you have an argument to support that in many ways, they are good.

    However,

One is good, hardnose and "HAS A GOOD ATTITUDE" -the other is a bit of a "HOT DOG and a pre-madonna" - guess which one?

Thats true.. But I feel if properly coached(DAD), There are no one that can touch them.

But being coaached by his brother, I feel he has to much freedom with in the offense.

I couldn't agree with you more BIIFFan!

"Father knows best" - brother can't instill discipline, it doesn't help when they wear baseball caps to a game! OMG!
