Team Taurasi plays in the top national tournaments. The Boo Williams, Nike Summer Showcase, and other prestigious tournaments are normally only by invite only and sometimes there are only 16 invites in the nation.

Awa is currently playing for the 17U Storm Elite team. Their coach is very impressed with her. Teh Elite team will play in the Nike Summer Showcase in Chicago. But only Team Taurasi will play in the Nike Nationals in North Augusta since the Nike Tourney only allows one entry from a club.

Let's give Coach Taylor of Punahou some credit for getting both Viela and Awa an opportunity to play on such prestigious teams.

How many coaches would get kids from other schools onto a great club team since he will nto reap the benefits of these girls improving from playing at the National Scene.

But its not like Coach Taylor is the only one who would do something like that. Coach Taylor is probably the only coach in Hawaii that has a connection with this elite girls squad.

Let's answer your question: How many coaches would get kids from other schools onto a club team? The answer is...you don't know.

Seriously, this is like saying, how many schools would have won states this year if they had the ability and talent level of Iolani. The answer is you don't know because over 50 schools don't have it.

That's like saying, Iolani, Punahou, and Kamehameha are the only schools with connections, academics, and money to get the top tier athletes.

So, let's answer your question, "How many teams could have won states this year if they had the resources to get the talent of the Iolani, Kamehameha, or Punahou kids?"

    The answer is....you don't know.

If we are going to speculate, then you can do this about every sport. If it isn't an exact level playing field, then of course we will never know "what would happen?"

Personally, I thought I would say something nice about a guy I know. I know he wouldn't do it himself.

This is like a teacher donating $1000 to her class due to hardship of monies throughout the state. Then a parent writes in on a blog complimenting that teacher. Then another blogger writes, "Well that teacher only donated extra money because she is the only one who can afford it."

Why does that comment even need to be brought up? Why can't we just be happy that the teacher donated money and leave it as that?

As a human race, do we need to water things down when others do something good and take away from the actual gift of giving and being selfless?
