HawaiiHoops.com wouldn't be where it is today without its loyal group of readers and posters so it'd be kinda dumb on our part if we didn't ask for your help in creating our new website.
So, with that being the case, what would you folks like to see in the next version of Hawaii Hoops?
Pictures and videos of current and past players would be cool. More articles on local players both current and past. Articles on coaches both current and past.
Jazz it up a bit...maybe add some ballin' back ground music. Links to related sites. Contests. Prizes. Sell some items like shirts, shorts and shoes. If you need any ideas or help regarding this, I know two guys who can help you raise money!
Sponsor a local youth/high school basketball tournament. Open up a store-front that can be the headquarters of HawaiiHoops where young ballers can hang out and learn a few things. Let me know if you need any more ideas, I have a ton of 'em.
Sponsor a coaches/players clinics and feature a high-profile coach/player(s). Maybe something like Derrick Low and his coach Tony Bennett.
Have a Coach, Player, Ad come in any maybe have a
Q & A line up, like Stephen Tsai does with the football players.
Bring back the player profiles...
It would be really cool if we had video of the games with highlights. Maybe you can have an address people can send their highlight tapes or video game tapes to?

I would back up the high school player profile part so we can see how they are doing.

A great idea. Posting of high school player's profiles strictly for public exposure, as long as it's not used for the purpose of PUBLIC TARGET PRACTICE or CRUEL-OUT CUT-DOWN COMMENTS. Young athletes don't need to be exposed to the sometimes cruel world of the adult & jealous peer so-called "negative opinionated comments". Then this site & forums would now turn into a whole lot of smut & arguments. Clips of player game video highlights worthy of posting would be interesting and entertaining, and the player's actions will mostly speak for themselves. Jus' a thought. Jus' a thought.

Your Honorable BBJ, Sorry, but this has nothin' directly to do with Hawaii sports. I'm not boasting or anything, but I do have a million n' one points and practicallities just swirling around & turning stagnant all to myself. If you want to hear some, or have an opening on your staff, I could finally be somewhat of a productive contribution to society after being immobile for over eight years. Living in fear, I forgot what it's like to offer my opinions, or insights to others... kind of feels exhilarating & exciting doing this, yet exhausting. Finally being able to release something useful after eight plus years of just observing and absorbing. Keep on the forum.

is there a specific date on which the new site is set to be launched?
No date has been set.
Hopefully we'll be able to add some of the requested features by the end of July, but because this is a part-time and virtually unpaid project, its difficult to commit the time necessary to make the upgrades. Please know that we will try our best.
And... If anyone wants to make a donation, you are more than welcome to send a check our way. It might make things move a little faster around here. Haha.
