    What a Line Up Tonight.

I don't know a thing about Girl's Basketball, but I do know this; Div II Girl's are getting the shaft. Semi-Finals are at two different sites, none at Blaisdell. Not very fair in my opinon.

Here we go, Who Ya Gots?

    Div II Girl's Semi's
    Kapaa vs Molokai
This is the reason Div II was started. Two small schools getting a chance to play for a Chanpionship, I think it's great! Get the schools with over 800 kids out of there. Not sure who to pick, but I love the Bakery on Molokai that makes the bread with peanut butter and jelly late at night. For that reason...
Late Night Munchies 48, The land of a 1000 Chickens 40

    KHS-Hawaii vs Kaimuki
The reason Div II is a joke. There is no reason these two teams to be playing Div II.
I have taken this game off the board. This is not a level playing field. Amamia needs to stop applying for other jobs and get a spine and fix this!

    Div I Girl's Semi's
    Punahou vs Lahainaluna
Trying to think of something funny to write, but I'm getting a brain cramp. Do we really want to see the privilaged ones win yet another Chanpionship? Obama, Football, Manti, Michelle Wi and world domination, what more do they need? On the other hand how can you go against a school where all the cars say "Tongan Power" on them?
    David Malo's Girls 57, Steve Case's Girls 55

    OIA White Championship
    Kailua vs Castle
The battle of Windward! The brawl afterwards is going to be great! Loser of this will lose their Mall Privlages for a year. The winner gets the #1 seed next week. Kailua has really good players in Ellis, Miller and Lau, if they don't go nuts and lose their minds they could get Harrison his first title. Castle can flat out shoot the rock, fun team to watch.
We hate Kalaheo West 64, We Hate Kalaheo Eadt 62

    OIA Red Championship
    Kaimuki vs Kahuku
What's at stake here? How about two ILH teams in your bracket vs only one. That's the prize, problem is the loser gets the bracket with only one. Do you really want to win the OIA?
Akina played the " losing was the best thing for us " card last night, he may be right. Kahuku has walked the tighteope for awhile now, needed to readjust their focus. Kaimuki is to quote Denny Green "They are who we thought they were". A solid club that can win a State Championship.
We're more than a Football Factory 53, We got a really cool Safeway 52

ILH-Loser Out, Winner to Big Island
    St Louis vs Punahou
This is the game of the night, the pressure of this game on the Kids and Coaches will be overwellming. It's going to be awsome. Who will crack first? On the surface the Puns look like that they just can't get it together, tonight they get one last shot. There's no way they should lose to the Crusaders again right? Not so fast my freind, only flaw St Louis has shown is that Kamehameha is a really bad matchup for them. The crowd will be it's usual out of control self, Dalton better wear ear plugs. Police escourt needed if the Puns pull it out.

Puns over St Louis by 24!
    That's not a prediction. It's over!!!
Not as great a game as we all thought I'd guess, Puns look like they've got it together, at least tonight they sure did. Crabb had 14 to lead the way. Also one of the dirtiest games I've seen all season played by the Saints

Kahuku also beat Kaimuki tonight for the OIA Red title

I would be embarrassed if I was a parent or coach from St. Louis. There is a difference between playing dirty and playing clean and hard. In my opinion, many plays were dirty. There was like 2-3 techs called on St. Louis. I guess you have to play that way when u aren't as talented.

Saints just didn't play their game tonight. They closed it to four at the closest but the puns just always had an answer. Crabb stepped up, Puns made more free throws and controlled the tempo for most of the game. Hats off to the Saints for a great season and first year coach. Underclassmen came in late to finish for saints but was not playing basketball instead they just fouled hard or flagrant. McClinton came out to play late in da game but it was just too late, Umu and Viena tried their best and gave it their all for their team. Cassidy had good defense which will help the puns advance in states and their post has size over most teams but the saints postmen never backed down despite the height and weight disadvantage. I Can't wait to watch how the Puns do in the state tourney.

What was up with all them techs? Ugly game if you ask me. Hillard went down hard a couple of times. That was the only up side in tonights game. The rest was prison rules basketball.

I'd call it physical. Not dirty. Game plan must be get into their heads no matter what it took. Hey, they are football players.

Don't use football as an excuse for poor judgment. Kahuku's team are football players and play clean. I don't know how St. Louis can be proud with themselves. Maybe I should mellow out. Every team is different.

Looks like everyone got home at the same time. Whats all off the bickering about? I saw the Kahuku/Kaimuki game on OC16. Kahuku won. Kaimuki's Kelly Grant was giving the refs all they could handle.

Kids will be kids, but their worst instincts took over this game. It went beyond playing really hard to win into playing to hurt the other side for not letting them win.

And it was largely a football thing - on both sides, to be fair.

But with a difference: the St Louis kids did not hold back (or is it, did not back down) and the St Louis kids made it personal or took it personally. And they thus fouled out. But they didn't care, indeed, they pretty much flaunted the rules and the refs at the end, just so they could get their licks in.

Pack mentality. Discipline out the window. So the game got away from them, literally (the score) and figuratively). And no one stopped it or stepped in.

Someone could have gotten hurt. Unnecessarily. Like the hit on Feldman. At that point, the game turned into a fight. I think the refs, the coaches, the parents, all have to do the right thing, no matter what the circumstance. You let kids put themselves in harms way and someone will get hurt. It's not worth it.

Bully basketball! Umu and Hillard looked personal. Beyond basketball personal. Scrap already kind of personal.

You guys are blowing this out of proportion on STL, the kids that were fouling the Punahou players were young and small. It may have looked worse than it felt. Plus end of story Punahou won, congrats and have a good state tourney.

Two hand pushes to the back. Shoving players to the floor after the whistle. Not making plays for the ball and intentionally fouling is not playing hard. It is dirty. Everyone at the game saw it. St. Louis is a dirty team. They got outplayed.

I can't believe that I actualy felt sympathy for Punahou last night. It was like drive by shootings in Compton, guy's getting clocked when they least expected it. But Punahou did it's self no favors with their antics towards the crowd. And once again it's Hiliard, Toma and Teo that intice the crowd by reacting to them. KonaStyle was correct in stating that it goes from the top down.

The Crusaders committed a hard foul on Feldman as time expired, down by 24...that is dirty play. That is not basketball...Puns made 34 free throws according to the Bulletin. Almost as much as St. Louis' 41 points. Whatever. It's over. Good luck Puns on Big Island

saint louis hasn't been too dirty all year, but they've gotten their fair share of techs. the great majority of them for bickering/taunting refs (which is bad sportsmanship anyway). Rarely are their antics directed towards the opposing team, but that definitely changed last night.

getting upset at punahou for having better athletes in almost every sport isn't a good excuse at all, but everyone wants to take extra licks at punahou these days.

both Kimo Makaula and Kainoa Gaddis attended Saint Louis before they got to Punahou. Makaula left Saint Louis mid-year. Punahou is now recruiting one of Saint Louis' sophomore quarterbacks, the first backup to Jeremy Higgins. They've also recruited kids who got kicked out of Saint Louis for ACADEMICS.

We all know Saint Louis did this to the public schools in Cal Lee's heyday, but Saint Louis didn't have to play those public schools around 50 times a year in athletics. Furthermore, Saint Louis pretty much acknowledged that they recruited for athletic prowess, something that Punahou and "Punahou people" often deny. Punahou is playing hardball by recruiting from a chief rival like Saint Louis, and they reap what they sow when their depleted rivals get chippy on the playing field.

You guys think the game was bad! Try sitting a few seats in front of Lucas Gonsalves mother "Ann". I had to turn and look at who the heck that was! The lungs on that tita! The refs let too much slide, just my opinion.

Punahou is going do very well on the Big Island.
