After another great week of hoops here's how the "Objective One" sees it:

    1. Kamehameha-The lack of size is being compensated with a great competitive spirit and it doesn't hurt to have Christainsen. Not sure if they can stay here all season but for now they deserve it.

    2. Punahou-Played a couple of easy ones early on in thier Tournament but beat a good mainland team in the final. Crabb had a good weekend and needs to be the scoring option guard that good teams have.

    3. Iolani-close to having thier complete squad intact. Great effort vs Montrose, showed some fire and got good looks all game. The two losses on the Big Isle still keeps them here.

    4. Hilo-Showed that at the moment they are the team to beat in the BIF. With the lack of a dominant OIA team they fall into this spot.

    5. Kahuku-Lets start with this; They're very, very very large. No Kona over the weekend and looked sloppy at times, in fact needed 2 OT's to beat Radford, but this team will get better.

    6. Moanalua-Solid effort vs Gonzaga and should of beat the Arizona team. Looks like they have a 2nd scorer in Kauhola to help Monroe. Freshman guard looks legit.

    7. MPI- Came down to earth this weekend, but looks like the 4th team in the tough ILH. Let's see how they do this week at Moanalua to see where they really belong.

    8. Kalaheo-Not as bad as I thought. Not you're typical Mustang squad, but they do have a signature player who's as good as anyone in the State.

    9. St Joes-Couple of losses this weekend, but still solid. Big test for them this week against Oahu teams.

    10. Radford-Double OT loss to Kahuku and a spirited but not so skilled effort vs Iolani lands them here.

Sorry HF, not who you think I am, which is fine. Never coached a team, just a fan.

    Hey Backpick,
Great post.Glad to see Hilo move up. They looked good last week when they beat Iolani and continue to improve. The two transfers starting to fit in to the Hilo system better. Also St.Joe lost one game this weekend.Overtime loss to Kam Big Island. Thanks again for the great posts.

backpick, really good post!!! Thanks for being objective and giving some Hilo teams their props. This week will be a big test for a couple of teams in Oahu! I like what Hilo is doing in the preseason, they are playing a lot of players in most of the games, which will give them a good look at many of the combinations that they may use throughout the season. They need to handle the ball a little better than they did this past weekend or they will get run out of the gym against the powerhouses of Oahu.
