Got this information from a OIA assistant coach. Can anyone confirm?

    OiA Red East:
    Castle
    Kahuku
    Kailua
    Kaimuki
    Kalani
    Roosevelt
    Moanalua

    OIA White East:
    Anuenue
    Farrington
    Kaiser
    Kalaheo
    McKinley

    OIA Red West:
    Campbell
    Leilehua
    Kapolei
    Mililani
    Pearl City
    Radford
    Waianae

    OIA White West:
    Aiea
    Nanakuli
    Waialua
    Waipahu

If this information is true, this is my opinion 4 months out.

OIA Red East: Looks to be a 2 team race with Moanalua and Roosevelt. Both are well coached and quick. The slight advantage goes to Moanalua since they are the reigning OIA champs although they have some big holes to fill.

OIA Red West: Some could argue that the Red West is just as competitive as the White East, but that remains to be seen. Radford looks to be the class of this division. Mililani in a clear second. The rest is up for grabs.

OIA White East: Farrington will be one of the top teams in the OIA regardless of division. Kaiser and a depleted Kalaheo squad are in the next tier.

OIA White West: Waipahu will be big but not too skilled. That should be enough to be the big dog in a weak division.

I think that Waianae should be pretty good this year. Even if there isn't one of there best shooters, Christian Mendonza. There still going to have Anthony Niederschmidt & I heard there were some pretty good players coming in to varsity this year. Hopefully its true.

  8. @lovely808...How do you know Christian Mendonza? Do you attend Waianae? and yes Anthony Niederschmidt is a pretty good player.

They were tough in summer league. Everyone on the team played tough D. Mason, Tevin, the real quick guard, and the big polynesian kid were their main guys. They could finish anywhere in the top 3 or 4 OIA in my opinion.

i think Moanalua is the team to beat in the OIAs hands down, even with out Marcus Keene, wesley, dexter, chewy,AD and Karl will ensure that that the menes stay on top. top it off with Greg Tacom and some football players and you have a team that should challenge the ILH top three for hawaii supremancy. good luck Menes, coach b

  14. @lovely808...No I don't attend Waianae. I am however a big fan of Waianae sports. I watch the basketball team as much as possible and noticed they have a solid team. What is your name?

@ben...That's kind of a stretch saying that they can make it that far without 4-5 of their best players.

HF, I'm sure can verify, but last I heard Keene is now enrolled at a HS in Texas and will not be returning. Again, I believe this to be the case but wait for HF to post before marking it down.

Thanks for the update. That's a huge loss for Tacon. I'm sure they can rebuild and still have a solid team.

Any news on the rest of the guys listed above?

Sorry D, I don't have any other information regarding the other players. Again, I'm not 100% sure this is the case for Keene. I'm "almost" sure, but please wait for HF to comment. He will know.

Update: Talked with HF and Keene did in fact move to San Antonio. He will not be attending Moanalua. No other players are leaving.

Best of luck to Marcus. I hope that playing against some stiff Texas competition allows his game to season at an even faster level.
