Jacob Andrade

Jacob Andrade (St. Joseph), Kainoa Chu (Iolani), Marcus Monroe (Moanalua), Akina (Kahuku), King (Seabury), Fernandez (Kalaheo), Crabbe (Punahou).

It's gotta be Jacob Andrade! (state-wide)...I think we all can agree that he took the most shots in every game he played by far.
...and I think St. Joe needed every bit of those shots to have an awesome season this year!!!!!He put on a show for the BIIF!!!

@Luna86
He did take majority of the shots this season however he did shoot over 50% for the season, that's what is impressive about his numbers.
A lot of those other guys can score too. I think Fernandez had a 30 something point game this season.

@ obi,
Yeah, no doubt...I didn't say he wasn't a good shooter..he's a very good shooter and impressive one at that!!!
But he definitely needed to take all of those shots to get the scoring "possible state" title and he needed to make those shots at a high percentage to win games for his team
...I think his scoring helped them to win 80-90% of there games this year!
I think most people would agree, he pretty much carried most of the work load...with a bit of help from Fairman.Posted 2 years ago # -
I think King would be getting numbers like Andrade if he had more play time. Kids a ballah but because they were usually winning by big numbers (like 20-50 points) they play the whole squad and the starters sit out the fourth quarter and sometimes half of the third. Seabury has so many shooters that he doesn't touch the ball as often. Dude is still averaging like 20 points a game even with limited playing time.

Thats a good point lolo4hoops!
St. Joe really only goes 7 deep. Only 2 guys play "off the bench" (maybe, just maybe 3 off the bench in rare occasions)
Seriously...I know 4 kids don't even smell the court (besides Warm-ups)...I know cause one of those "pine-soldiers" is my neighbor.
But I gotta say, they have good game management (coach and playa's)...but if Andrade or Fairmen get in foul trouble early in states that might be there only "achilles heal" (so-to-speak).

No matter how much times people might say Andrade has shot the ball in the BIIF he will never have the record of most attempts in a season that STAT belongs to BRANDON KAUHI AND SHANNON POE who both played at hilo high.......lol

@ Luna86
YES, Andrade had a big part of st. joes great year, but i dont think he's the best scorer at all!!! if sebi took all the shots andrade took,he'd probably get 35ppg.....Posted 2 years ago # -
All of St. Joe's perimeter players have the green light so if they could then they would...

Thats my man Sebi Ohara-Saft, hes a baller haha. Hes probably going to be one of the top scorers next year. but Andrade is probably one of the top scorers, yes he does take alot of shots, but hes persistant. In the HPA game he was 4 for 12 or something like that before he hit that huge deep three that claimed their states birth. he still ended up with like 20 something points.

@ DIESEL,
I couldn't agree with you more! (regarding if Sebi shot more or equivalent to J. Andrade he would score just as much.)
Wow, you just joined 8 hours ago?...hmmmmmm

I've been hearing alot about this andrade kid and his scoring. does anyone know when they play this week? I heard they got kailua. anyway i'll reserve my opinion until i see him play but from all the blogs i have read it seems like everyone is dogging andrade because he shoots too much. some bring up some good points about others if they would shoot as much as andrade. it is what it is! last time i checked all of the great shooters/scorers in the NBA, they all chuck it up alot. on top of shooting alot most dont make 50% of there shots. call me crazy but thats how i see it!

That is true livewire!
It's all part of the plan for his team...he's definitely playing within his coaches system, no doubt.
Yes, he chucks it up quite a bit...but nobody is doubting his abilities or obedience towards his coaches directions. It's all good!

Nehoa Akina....Hands down the best scorer in the state this year...
Posted 2 years ago # -
Aaron Fernandez...Hands down the best scorer in the state this year...
Posted 2 years ago # -
no disrespect to fernandez, but Akina hands down is the best scorer in the state the kid can flat out shoot, and he is a one man scoring machine with out pressing it i hope he gets alittle selfish against teams in this tourney, coach if you read these things turn your son loose, dribble drive shoot he can score 35 anytime he wants and this is his last chance for a state title,
