Maybe someone can help me due to the fact that I'm new to all of this hawaii high school ball. Is there not any AAU teams set up here to keep the boys playing year round and playing in the mainland to build the talent and get the guys to the next level?

There use to be alot of good AAU teams like HOOPS PAINA, KBB, AND ALI'I but for the coaches; their kids are about to graduate or have graduated so they stopped coaching teams. but these 3 teams here were the elite AAU teams of hawaii!!!

You have a few choices - the Honolulu Sharks are a great 16U team that plays both here and on the Mainland. The Honolulu Kings are a great 17U team that does the same. Both run AAU events - the Kings have their Spring League from the end of March through May (Varsity only) and the Sharks have a tournament in June and October.
There are a number of very good local teams that compete in all of these events - Southside, Lanakila, Hawaii Select, etc. Best to shop around a bit and see where you would fit in best.

i believe the AAU teams and leagues are not as strong anymore.. it was way more competitive when you had HOOPS KBB AND ALI'I... NO DOUBT

Does anyone know if the Hawaii Raiders still has a 17U travel team?
