...i'm using mine too.. nah.. the issue is not fake names, but rather the unnecessary need for folks to know who is who.. why do folks need to know who is posting?
..for me, i don't look at the names, but rather the mana'o.. the names matter less to me than the opinion being stated.. however, i'm afraid if the true identity of some posters are not protected then they'll lose interest because big island is small and we need a site where folks can communicate their true feelings without the political backlash at either their own kids, family, or themselves.
...it's great to have some folks simply put their names and i think it's okay for others to use a post name as long as their not hiding behind their post name with negative or instigating comments and opinions.. if they are then you are right--they should show themself!!..

...two points.. first if you want to use real names then use your full name (first and last) so everybody know.. but second, the most important point about using real names is that anybody can put a name and claim it's there's.. tomorrow I could go on as Bill O'Rear and the true Bill could do nothing about it.. or i could on as Kalei96720 and talk small untruths which could cause issues for the bloggers who know Kalei!!.. that's why the names shouldn't matter.. it's the mana'o and opinions i'm after..
..yet, Kalei and Dicky if you really wanted real names you would have included your last name as well, like some email addresses, instead of 96720 or 808, no?

Some great dialogs. I appreciate everyones input. It was just a thought to what the hot topic has been about cleaning up this site. Always better to try and come up with solutions instead of just complain about it. It worked on the other hawaii site about local kids. Just its bigger because it deals with all sports not just basketball.
