Hawaii Raiders is guaranteed a team going to Vegas. Does anyone know who is on the team so far? I would think Conrad Shidaki might not be coaching anymore, due to Cole graduating. Maybe Hirata?

Hey Jones, if you haven't made your air yet, best you do it today. Its just under a 1000, round trip. Hawaiian Air seems to go up on a daily basis. If luck, I mean funds allow, I will see you there!!!

check this out hoopsitiz...I already booked through vacations hawaii, I bought my package (round trip airfare, hotel and meals) for $525.00.
but I know what you mean because I need to book another trip to vegas this coming june and all the flights are outrageous!!!
Let me know when you will be in vegas...I will let you buy me a beer!

Good for you Jones. To the rest of our Hawaii Hoops Ohana, both the Big time Tournament and Vision Sports tournament will be held from July 22-26 in Las Vegas.

The Hawaii Raiders have been going to Vegas for many years and will once again be taking another team up.
I know of a few more teams heading to Vegas but have been hit by the ATA bankruptcy. Unfortunate situation.

I think the Sharks/Hoops Paina will be teaming up once again as they did last year. I also think that Kimo Makaula's dad will be taking another team up once again to Vegas, as he did last year.

Spoke with Coaches Ush and Hirata and so far it looks like this:
Kainoa Chu, Iolani
Kainoa Scheer, Iolani
Tevita Woodward, McKinley
Trevyn Tulonghari, Iolani
???, Castle (forgot the kids name but he is a junior at Castle)
Andrew Skalman, Iolani
Reid Saito, Iolani
Evan Sukita, Iolani
Adam Ching, Iolani
Marcus Monroe, MoanaluaI may be missing a name or two, but that is pretty much the bulk of it.

Solid & at the same time, youthful (alot of Iolani soph & frosh) yet very talented. How about Kela Marciel, he is a returnee...... Andrew Skalman is very capable at the point (he did start a few games last year) and is a good kid. Guys, it looks as though Iolani's has a bright future. Good draft, Good luck, show them Hawaii can play ball. Any other teams headed to Vegas, there is alot of talented teams and players here that can represent well also. How about Makaula, anyone know his roster? Any K Town bloggers out there (we know he's loaded with talent) can give us a holler!

I think Kela is going to have a really busy summer playing 3 sports and I think that is the reason he is not playing for the Hawaii Raiders. Spring football has already started for most ILH schools and I heard he will be attending camps for baseball on the mainland (brother Wally pitches for Kansas). He also has the summer basketball league so his plate is really full.
But yes, the team is loaded with younger players which shows the bright future for the 'Iolani program. And I thought Eddie Gaines from Campbell was going with the Hawaii Raiders also? Is he not going anymore?

Good morning Snowman, Yuck09, Yuck11, 808HiFlyer please see if you can dig up a Team Hawaii roster for us. Is Coach Gary going to bring up his Alii team? If so let us know his studs as well. Anyone else? The Raiders and Sharks sounded like they can compete and there is a lot of talented players going up to Vegas, let us know which team your going with people.

Howzit hoopsitiz, goodafternoon. Thanks for the come back. It looks like those K Town bloggers are still celebrating Punahou's baseball state championship. Punahou's 5th in row and Kaluna Makuala's 3rd in row. He also has a basketball championship (last year). Now all he needs is a football. Anyway, are the Kamakazi's going? I know that they go every year. Who are your friends going up, who are their players/coaches? I'm just itching to find out! I don't know if Coach Dennis has a team to go this year, His son Jeremy has gone every year. This year seems to have alot slower feed back as to years past huh.

Hey 2DHoop, don't know the Kamakazi's. Coach Dennis's team has most of the kids from Iolani playing for the Hawaii Raiders. I believe the Dawgs, coached by Stephen Chong is headed back to the ARC tournament. Thats it for now....

Right on hoopsitiz! The Dawgs are a very good team (lead by Blane Viena), Coach Chong will do well with those players, thanks for the info and keep up the good work. Hey, BBJ, give us a holler, if anyone would know it would be you. Who is Micah C. (Kamehameha) going up with?

Hey BBJ, when you listed the roster for the Hawaii Raiders on an earlier post, 10 kids were mentioned. Thats quite a lot of kids and maybe adding on 2 more? Some kids might not be having much playing time, huh.

Howzit hoopsitiz, hope your having a good day. The team name Kamakazi's may not sound familiar, the coach's name is Keith Young, his son is Tracy and plays for Iolani JV. You may know his face. He would bring a team (Kamakazi's) every year and his son would shine.

That I don't know, I know that Tracy has a younger brother (his younger brother is better than him) but I don't know his name. I'm sure if you saw the face. If you hear any rosters please fill us in.
