I think that St. Louis will be the number one team this year. They look very strong with Shidaki, Miller, and Mcclinton. They will dominate and be BIG. But i think people have left out Maryknoll. They look pretty decent and I think teams will have a hard time with them. They are already 1-0 for preseason after beating the defending state champs, Kaimuki 64-50. They're starting 5 looks really good and i think that they can all make it to at least second team ILH all of them.

I agree, Kela's speed and quick feet make him a very tough man-to-man on ball defender. This athleticism fits nicely into Iolani's tenacious half-court trapping defense that they are very well known for.

Other Considerations for Top Defender: Kela Marciel or Berton Wong from Iolani. Here's some other athletes to watch for, Conrad Scheidt and Pii Minns from Kamehameha, Kimo Makaula from Punahou, Lucas Gonzalves from St. Louis, Samson Won from Mid-Pac and if he's still around Keoni Daniel from Division II Academy of the Pacific (saw this kid play during the summer and he can flat out play some ball). I know he's in the OIA and this is an ILH post but the best player in the State hands down is Cheynne Lishmann from Kalaheo. He's a pure basketball player. As Tony Sellito once said, in Hawaii you have "athletes" that play basketball but also play football, volleyball or baseball. There's not too many pure basketball players but Cheynne Lishmann is one of them.

Crusader, this is a OBJECTIVE view on what the people of HawaiiHoops FEEL is the best players in the ILH. You can disagree and give your picks, but don't say it's wrong, how can it be wrong if it's an opinion. Sorry if they left your name off the list. Play better and get noticed.

Really tough not seeing Kameron Steinhoff's name among the ILH's top players. Hopefully he can be healthy enough in time to contribute to his team's success. Regardless, he is still a very respectful, humble and classy student-athlete that represents his school and family very well.

Good luck to him.
